It began with a stop at the Hunter's Lodge for a drink of ale before hunting.
A few of the Druids accidentally stepped into a circle of chanting being performed by an unknown group.
Later, that evening, when most druids were fast asleep, a demonic spirit meandered its way through the grove.
Stopping at Wisteria's and Doireann's homes, it made known it would curse them, poison them. It left without further notice.
The next day, and throughout the week, the spring which fed directly from Ilshenar became black and the plants around it slowly diseased. The pond life disappeared.
The druids became ill, various symptoms which didn't point to anything. Maelwyn questioned them, asking if anyone had any clue what might have caused it. Doireann told about the demonic spirit.
"This is grave news, indeed," Maelwyn said, as she coughed in fits.
A week went by, as the druids became more and more sick. Until finally, a week after the first of the symptoms began, they were suddenly gone.
Maelwyn had been in her rune circle, and felt the start of a massive headache. The pain of it caused her to clamp her hands down on her head.
The sheer pain of the headache spiked through her like a pain spike and she passed out under the force of it.
When she awoke, she felt fine. She had no recollection of the demonic spirit, or of the tainted spring. She but only had one desire.
As the Druids showed up for their meeting, all of them seemed fine, as well. All with the same thought in mind.
To bring Nature's Justice down upon mankind for their crimes against Nature. |
