Mianna awoke to a tapping noise, rising from her slumber, she mumbled to herself. "Sleep is precious didn't people understand that?" Lately it seemed all she did was sleep though. Its a wonder she woke at all some days, she must be coming down with an illness or something. Thinking that today was the day to finally see a healer, she rose from her bed to investigate the tapping sound. Making her way down the stairs to the door, Mianna reached for the knob...Suddenly, the tapping stopped. She then heard the sounds of chldren laughing followed by the sound of what seemed like what could have been a small herd of animals. A small smile spread quickly across her face as she opened the door to see a group of 5 young children running away fom her house. She watched them quietly through the open door as they ran up the steps to another house nearby, their laughter subsiding long enough to tiptoe to the door then knock soflty before they erupted in laughter and giggling once more as they ran on to the next house. Mianna thought to herself "what I wouldn't give to be that carefree again". Closing the door still a bit amused by what she had witnessed, she returned upsairs to begin getting ready for the day. As she dressed, she pondered some about the upcoming elections. She knew she had to get to writing her speech, Saturday was fast approaching and she hadn't even so much as bought some parchment. "I guess a trip to town is in order....," she thought out loud as she grabbed her things and headed out the door.
