Leshok walked into his room and stared at a chest against the wall and nodded to himself. It was time, he was often away from this world to much, and the artifact must remain in active hands, for there would always be a need for the blade. He sat down and wrote out a letter.
Dear Max,
Hello my old friend, ally, student, brother in arms, how have you been? I know it has been some time since you have heard from me, as my time as of late, and perhaps in the days to come is not my own to command. I have something important to entrust with you my friend, as I think to those in this realm, I feel best leaving this with you. What I speak of my friend is the ancient holy artifact, the Sword of The Heavens. This sword has a long history of being in hands of great paladins such as Sir Cyrus the Holy, and I have been its last keeper till now. I know Max you say often, you are not a paladin or what ever, and this may be true. Yet you are a good and virtuous man who is true to himself and true to those he cares for. This blade is extremely important as it is one of the needed ingredients for a ritual that can cut off Oblivions commune with this world for a short time. The sword is one of them, the other items are The Gauntlets of light, kept by Lady LaBelle and Lady Mia at the hall of Paladins, The M'real family war hammer, a heirloom in the hands of James M'real, and the Tome of Knowledge, a book written in the ancient language used by paladins which has the verses needed for the ritual, I do not know who holds the book though.
Guard and use this blade well my friend, I will need to meet with you to place it under your care friend. The power of the sword is very strong against the evil powers of dark artifacts. I truely hope you never have a need to use it or its powers. I truely do not understand all it is capable of, should you seek answer, look for Sir James M'real, he knows more of the lore than I. Thank you my friend, I shall have to get this blade to you within four days.
- In Virtue,

A smile spread on Max's face upon reading the letter from his good friend Leshok. Max had been asked by Leshok to keep the Sword of the Heavens hidden in the past, and he was proud to do so then. This time it had greater meaning though. Leshok was going away for an extended time, and Max knew Leshok's concern for the sword was great indeed. The trust and confidence Max was being shown was much appreciated.
My good Friend:
It is truly good to hear from you! I am well and I trust you are likewise. As in the past I will not hesitate to guard the Sword of the Heavens while you are away. I recognize the significance of this artifact and will do all in my power to see it does not fall into the hands of darkness. With the exception of a quick excursion to Cove this evening I should be free. Send a note back with my bird telling me when would be best for you.
Warm Regards,

Max sends the note off with a pigeon to Leshok. _________________ -Max of Vesper, Super Pally Perma NoOb. |
