Slowly the thin figure shuffled into the Cathedral in the Darkness. They would not hear his foot-steps, no they could not, his feet were so young and light now. As for the town patrol, they would think nothing of his entering the temple at this hour. Taking the tele -porter from to the loft he tied a thin chain at each end of the balcony rail. Un-tucking the long rolled canvas from under his arms he attached it to the chain and let it un-furl, hanging open just above of the altar.
Quickly he made his exit.
Soon the would see it, all of it’s rich colors, the delicate and accurate features of the man, his eyes a bright green, his hair short and well-kept. Standing there in the robes of Moonglow professor. His expression stern, an open book in one hand, a skull in the other.
The news would reach Umbra quickly, as all ghost-stories do…one name whispered by the shop-keepers and their customers “Darrien Church”. |
