knelt there upon the pillow within the small jail-like room. The dark paladin slowly opened his eyes noticing the quiet of the ice cold room, but. "She's gone" whispering under his breath to none-in particular.
Slowly the man came to his feet and approached the cold steel bars. Why did she leave this place so damn cold... almost expecting snow just in this house! "It's cold enough in here to freeze snowmen and that brazier in the corner is already iced over" the dark figure muttered to himself.
The man attempted to reach a gloved hand through the bars to reach the key hole on the other side, but the platemail arms wouldn't allow him to go all the way through, getting stuck at the elbow joint. Slowly the man pulled his arm back muttering softly to himself.
Frustrated at being in such an enclosed small room, the man paced to the back wall coming full run into the chilled steel bars. But they didn't budge. Almost like they were too, Frozen into place.
Now even more frustrated, the man paced against the make shift bed and pillows tossed about the room. With a frustrated ease and a plated legging foot the man kicks the ice gray pillow, that was earlier given to him by the woman that put him in this cell, sending the pillow skittering across the ice patched floor then coming to an abrupt halt at the far wall.
"The vile wench! I trusted her... I can almost promise that "tale" of hers was half lie just as her comforting grace." Slowly Arakad approached the recently kicked pillow clasping it in his gloved hands "Though she was tempting to look at...and be near... she had a ... familiarity about her as she always does...almost seductive in her ways... I suppose we all have talents... some are just more ..."
Cut off from thought, the man reaches down touching the hard stone floor feeling a bit of warmth and air coming in from the cracks, a dryness unfelt in the rest of the drow woman's house. "What's this... could her icey touch actually be unfelt here..."
Slowly the man ran his hand to the base of the wall, bringing gloved fingers up a small crease of the hard stone and going up the wall's length feeling a small pebble move then a section of the wall actually opening up to allow sunlight to lighten up the room. "A gift from another of the woman's attempted caged victims, I'll have to leave my thanks another time."
Swiftly the dark paladin slid out the entrance of the wall coming to a sudden crouch to the crumpled grass below, placing the dark kasa back over his eyes he gave a bit of a smirk as he came to a stand. reaching back to close the hidden door of the cell. "Lets explore...see what land she's brought me to before I head back home."
Slowly the dark paladin steped forward towards the woods south east of the house and vanished amongst the brush and foiliage. |

Sorrel's cousin had the night off, so Sorrel had traded posts for a break from the easy, relaxed air of the Lady Molly's abode. Hazel deserved a rest after all his reconnaissance missions.
But, now he stood staring up at the ominous stone keep. The Lord Arakad had gone in with the cold lady, but he had not come out when she had. Very ill tidings. The place had a small layer of mist or condensation along the bottom of its walls, all around the place.
He paced back and forth furiously, whiskers twitching in deep contemplation. Had something happened to the Lord Arakad?
Why do things like this have to happen on MY watch?
Just then, he heard the sound of stone scraping on stone, from the east side of the building. He hurried over to see what was happening, and was rewarded with the sight of the Lord Arakad exiting the keep via a stone door. Icy mist poured out around him as he securely closed the door.
Sorrel was a very relieved squirrel. He let out a loud chitter of joy.
Hazel would have to find someone else to trade duties with, from now on. _________________ Chitter chitter chippa chip |
