It was a quiet night at Hanse's Hostel, and Marcus, the man who has possessed Vaen's body, was sitting at the Hostel. Across from him at the other table was a lady named Luna, one who Marcus has taken a bit of liking to. They were being silent, however, and not much was going on around them.

Marcus glanced around. Suddenly, he felt this unbearable pain in his stomach, and could not stop caughing. A sharp pain creeped up his spine and right up into his head, giving him a massive headach. Marcus knew what was happening, and bent forward, groaning loudly. Luna came over to him to see if everything was all right, but Marcus dashed into the back room.

A knock could be heard at the door, and Luna spoke softly, "Marcus...? Is everything all right?"

No response. Luna walked in to see what she thought was Marcus in a daze.

"Marcus...?"

Vaen turned around and looked at her. He then glanced at his hands as he moved them about. "I...."

"Marcus, is everything all right? Are you ok?"

Vaen glanced at her again, and then back to his hands. "Again... I have... control?"

Luna seemed rather disturbed, not entirely sure of what he was saying. Vaen dashed out the door and out of Hanse's, where he made his way to the caves southeast. Luna was chasing far behind him, and then Angel, who had been hidden inside the Hostel for the entire conversation, followed suit as well. As Vaen ran, visions of what Marcus has done while he was in control flooded Vaen's mind. As Vaen made it into the cave and sat down, tears were streaming down his face.

"Vaen..?!" Angel said as she approached.

Vaen looked up at her, the area around his eyes slightly puffy and a light shade of red, with tears running down his cheeks. Angel smiled slightly and bent down to hug him.

"Marcus...?" Luna ran towards the two of them. Angel got up and looked at Luna, narrowing her eyes. "Marcus, are you ok?"

"Marcus isn't in control right now, so you can leave."

Vaen buried his head in his shroud, then placing it between his arms.

"I want to see for myself." Luna said, looking back to Angel. She then turned Vaen's face to hers, and stared into his eyes, looking for something. Angel only watched, studying this Luna person.

Luna took her hand away from Vaen's face and nodded slowly. "Very well." She sighed. "Good bye, Vaen."

Luna turned and ran back to the Hostel. Angel watched as she left, and then kneeled back down to Vaen, turning his head to her. Tears were still running down his face. As soon as Vaen made eye contact with Angel, he hugged her close and started crying uncontrollably.

"I saw what he did, Angel." Vaen said, trying to fight back tears, but not being able to do so. "I saw what he did to you, and I saw what he did to Jolicia. All I could do was sit back and watch! I ... I c..." Vaen mumbled incoherantly through his sobs.

Angel hugged him tighter, rubbing his back. "It's all right hun. We'll fix it all. You just need to keep fighting, all right?"

Vaen wiped a few tears away. "I don't know if I can. Everyone hates me! They all think I'm the one doing it. Or, they know, and they don't care! I have nothing to come back to!"

"You have me, Vaen." Angel looked into his eyes. "And I know that Murdoc has said some things, but they aren't true. You have to keep fighting. For me, for Valatin, for Rachel!"

Vaen smiled slightly, then put his forehead on Angel shoulder, tears still streaming from his eyes, falling to the ground between them. Angel stood him up and hugged him tightly. She kissed him softly on the lips, and then looked him in the eyes.

"I love you, Vaen." Angel said.

"I lo..." Vaen's words stopped immediately. He then fell to his knees, groaning, feeling a similar pain that Marcus felt earlier.

"Vaen..??" Angel could only watch.

Vaen fell unconcious. Angel grabbed for his hand, holding it tightly. And then, the hand that Angel was holding grasped her even tighter, as if trying to hurt her. She screamed slightly in pain, taking her hand from the grasp.

Marcus stood up and grinned. "I hope you enjoyed your time. Won't happen again!" Marcus then walked out of the cave and towards the Hostel.
