Cat stood on the roof of her house watering plants .She liked how the flowers smelled and petals floated on the water in the small pool.
Spring was always such a nice time to throw off the chill of winter and feel warm again.

She thought of the past few weeks and how things change. Just like spring ,somethings die in the cold months but new life comes with the warm sun and soft breezes.
She smiled to herself as she thought of the spring festivals that would pop up all over the land. They were always so much fun. Everyone laughing, singing and dancing.

She went down to her bedroom to put some flower petals in her chest where her clothes were stored. She smiled at the sunbeam that came through the window making dust dance like faeries.
She thought of the night Reaver came to see her. Reaver always seemed to know when she was sad or upset. It was like he could feel her emotions even when he was far away. They had been lovers a long time ago but even now , as friends, there was a deep affection between them. He had listened to her. He had held her and told her she wasn't broken, that she was just a woman who loved without the need for bonds. He knew her so well. She had loved him and been afraid of him at the same time. He had never asked for bonds. she had imagined the gilded cage. It was a pattern in her life. Getting close-feeling caged and then running.
She knew she wasn't like other women. Women who felt the need for the natural steps of a relationship. She would always be broken, always run from that invisible hold.
Reaver had left late that night only when he knew she was feeling better. She was sad to see him go but she knew whenever she needed him he would be around.

Spring had brought changes for her friends as well. Zezal was being goofy over a pretty girl named Kala. Cat giggled when she thought of them making eyes at each other.
Scribble had fun one night when she won an auction and had paid gold for the Duke of Blackwind.

Her friend Corster had found a treasure chest of jewels and brought them to her. She had played with them, tried the rings on her fingers and toes. She had put the earrings on and giggled at the tinkle sound they made.

Rinoa had come to Cat's house a couple times and played in the pool. Rinoa had been so much fun and had tickled Cat until she couldn't breathe.

Cat walked back to the roof and looked out over the lands of Yew. She took a deep breath , raised her wine glass to the sun and wondered what the next phase in her life would bring.

She smiled and said ," Welcome to Yew, Spring!"
