Vaen hurried into the entrance to Deceit, shivering from the cold weather outside. It was snowing heavier than normal. Or atleast heavier than he remembered.
Stepping inside Deceit, all he could see were the dark hallways lit up dimly by the torches hung on the wall. Stepping slowly forward, he called for his friends.
"Valatin! Rachel! Are you in here?!"
He heard nothing but his own echo. Would they really come here? They both liked to face danger, but this place would be too 'icky' for Rachel. Vaen stepped further in anyway.
Making his way towards the lair of the Liches, Vaen heard a familiar voice. Though it wasn't Rachel or Valatin, it was one he heard before. Vaen slid against the wall quietly, inching closer to the conversation beind had down the hall.
"You're sure?" said a shadowy figure.
"Yes yes! Sure as can be!" said a figure in a red robe.
"What powers?"
"Ah yes! He can raise the dead! He can use the dark arts at his will! Very powerful indeed, yes!"
"We will have to see what we can do with him. Where did you say you found him?"
Vaen leaned in to listen, but accidently knocked a piece of stone off from the wall. Vaen froze.
"Who is there?!" the shadowy figure said angrily, looking around the room.
"Yes yes, who there? Master, we go elsewhere."
"Mmm, and quickly."
The figures walked towards a wall and seemed to disappear as soon as they touched it. Vaen walked over to the same wall and placed his hand on it, but it was rock solid. Confused, Vaen looked around the room for any evidence of what was just going on, but he couldn't find any.
"What the heck were they talking about...?" Vaen couldn't figured it out, and didn't have any leads.
Vaen made his way back to the entrance of the Deceit, looking out over the snowy terrain. He sighed. "I will find you two, I promise," nodding to himself, "Off to Destard." _________________
