Sneaky bastard.

"Where's my pay?" the young assassin asked, raising a knife to the man's throat.

Truth sighed and replied calmly. "As I said, you will receive your pay when you finish your final job."
"My final job is finished, as you said. I want my pay, or I'll take your blood as collateral."
"Your final job isn't finished. You have one person to remove. Do this one and I'll be happy to double your earnings."

This appealed to the young assassin, who proceeded to lower the knife. "Double?" he asked. "Someone must have really screwed up."

Truth nodded. "It is Charity. She can no longer be trusted. She has betrayed us and revealed her identity, and she must be removed from the equation before she can reveal mine."

"She knows who you are? I don't even know who you are."

Truth grinned, and adjusted the hood covering his face. He couldn't wait to get out of there, as masks and hoods made him very uncomfortable.

"You know where to find her, and if you can't, you know who she follows. If she goes into hiding before you can catch her, you have failed and will not be paid. Agreed?"

The young assassin shook his head. This would be a difficult job, but interesting nonetheless. "No. Half now, half when she..."

The assassin was left speechless as out of nowhere the blade of a sword caught the skin of his neck. "Do not betray me as she has. You will receive your pay in due time. After all, if she opens her mouth, both of our lives are at stake."

The young man nodded once, wondering how the hell he had let his guard down to this man. He attempted to hide his fear. "A million now, that's a sixth... I'll collect the other five when I show proof that I have succeeded."

The Truth seemed pleased with the boy's persistance. "I'm impressed. We have a deal." He lowered the sword, and the two men proceeded to leave so the young assassin could receive his first pay.
