Ragnar walked about the House of Gauntlet guild house, into the room where Molly kept her most personal mementos. He opened the chest and removed a small golden box, and began to look through the contents once more. A pair of engraved rings, two small torn parts of a blanket, several letters, a few books, and another pair of rings. He looked over the items for a while, thinking of where he stood today, despite not what he didn't know. Stepping up beside Molly to help guide the House of Gauntlet, felt very natural to him, luckily the men and women of the guild seemed to welcome him and they were all growing as a group.
He smiled thinking of the progress in combat prowess, team work, and friendship he had seem emerge from his guild mates. He smiled again thinking of how natural it felt to be at Molly's side, to feel love for her and to call her endearing names. In all this though, a thought still hung in his mind as he closed the box and a thoughtfull look crossed his face.
The man Martin Willow, he could not fault Molly for marrying while he had been gone so many years, but now they were in an interesting position, for while Martin and Molly were still married, Ragnar and Molly had never ended their marriage. Molly had told Ragnar she chose him and that her feelings for Martin had lessened in Martin's absence, for his love was a comforting love. Still Ragnar knew how he felt and couldn't share his wife, and had to have things resolved, he hoped Martin was a reasonable man and the two of them could talk things out like men, and save Molly the grief. He sighed and found himself fidgeting with the ring that was his wedding ring to Molly. Smiling he replaced the ring to his finger as he had done for the last week or so since she returned it to him.
Martin would understand, if he truely had loved Molly, he would let her be happy. Ragnar nodded, knowing he would do just that if the situation was reversed, he cared to much about her to do other wise. But she had chosen Ragnar, and for all three of their sake, it had to be resolved.
With a smile he casually placed the letter he last wrote her on a pillow so she would stumble accross it and read it again, then walked out of the room , sure of his life, sure of his path, and sure of his heart. _________________ "I am lost and found all at once, all i had lost, i've found, only to be lost myself." |
