|
If I were to write up rules to a PvP tournament where ANYTHING GOES, would people participate?
The rules would be very limited. And this is a tournament where tamers can participate. So yes, it could very well be Mage vs Tamer. Any pets, as well. And the mage can summon something as a prebuff, etc. But that will all be worked out in the rules.
Would there be much participation? _________________

Nope.. I refuse to fight a greater dragon or any other strong pet similar to that.
I do that enough in normal PvP. |

I would, though, I'd pale seeing a greater dragon. |

I agree with Phyrra. I say let tamers vs tamers. I can't tell you how many times I've been at the base only to see a bunch of g.dragons waltz over me like butter. _________________

Let me add to this now that I got the taste of this nasty candy out of my mouth...
I would be all for an anything goes tournament, but no pets. Sorry tamers.. Unless it was something not quite as evil as a greater dragon. |

There's already a tournament where tamers can be vs tamers. This would be, by definition, an anything goes tournament. There will be VERY few restrictions. Currently, tamer pets aren't one of them. _________________

Well id like to see the rules. the open tamer idea is nice but if someone kills em, there out. however. it can still be hard as hell. if i were to kill the tamer and pet had to stop maybe. but nothing wrong with a tamer winning a pvp tourney. id participate maybe. tho i only have once in my time here.
elaborate. this could draw alot of attention. the main reason i never entered tourneys was because of the rules on pots, and pots being simplified and generalized, and restricted. im an alchy, i know right now it doesnt take the skill to be one right now but i got it. and its sucked over the years. to the point where im no longer good at pvp or join events related to it aside from war....at all really. but, id play. _________________

To be honest, I was hoping something like this would come about.
It creates a much more desperate form of tournament. It causes for epic rp, and makes a really character based fight. I had been hoping for a long time, that tournament pvp would come back to the old ways where really, you had to be ready for anything that could be tossed at you, and react accordingly. And I think this is really that sort of way.
I think for it to work, the tournament space would need to be larger and allow for more movement amongst the dragon's range, but really, this would make for great rp combat in a tournament. Something we dont get much. I would love to see a rule set written up on this. |

If we do this, I plan on using the Jhelom farms. _________________

Okay, after a bit of thinking and some talking.. I want to see rules first before I judge.. And if it means me going against a tamer with a great dragon.. I guess so be it. I've beaten them before. I just am not too keen on the idea.
But you know me.. I enjoy PvP as much as I do RP
Also, if need be I can adjust the Colosseum.. To avoid any outside interruptions. |

This would not be done in a house. It would be done in the Jhelom farms area. I will draft a ruleset tomorrow. _________________

Rough draft before I go to sleep:
I. Mounts and Buffs
...A. Mounts are permitted
...B. Forms that grant mount speed are permitted
...C. Potions are NOT limited
...D. Pre-battle buffs are NOT limited
...E. Stealth and invisibility are NOT limited
......1. Over-use of hiding and stealthing may result in disqualification. However, invisibility may be used at any length, as it has a built-in timer, and one cannot move after invising.
...F. There is no sudden death.
......1. In the event that a fight actually takes far too long, there will be an audience vote as to who the victor is.
II. Pets
...A. Any and all summons may be used.
...B. Tamed pets may only be used by tamers.
......1. This is to avoid everyone running out and getting a lesser hiryu, and using it in the tournament.
......2. Samurai character that can ride a lesser hiryu may use a lesser hiryu.
...C. You may use up all of your control slots if you wish.
III. Tamers
...A. Yes, tamers are allowed.
...B. The fight is over when the tamer dies, though the opponent may choose to kill the pet anyway.
...C. A tamer may resurrect his or her pet during battle.
......1. I want some discussion on this. Let's face it, it takes skill to res your pet AND fight back an opponent at the same time. I am, however, open to suggestions. _________________

If the tamer dies, are they allowed to give directions from the side, or can we do things to stop the pet from attacking, leaving it peaceful to us? |

The tamer can no longer interact with his pet, but the pet still needs to die if you want to win. _________________

I love the rules. I actually look forward to seeing this come about. I'd like to see some "Field battle" duels. |
