Leshok sat at the tavern opening, idly talking with Vaen and others when he sent invitation to Labelle if she wished to join, knowing well she would decline. In her response of decline, she mentioned leaving for an endeavor soon, one Leshok knew would make it increasingly difficult for them to visit. She would be going to Magincia, a place Leshok felt not comfortable with the Humanis Government.
So he decided to take an early leave of the tavern and pay a parting visit to her before she left. He stopped at a small market, smiling as he bought a small origami butterfly he thought she would like. Arriving at the place they often met, Leshok found her busy at writing, as expected. They walked outside and spoke for a while, making easy conversation and small jokes, bringing smiles to each others faces. She told him though that he need not worry for she was not leaving yet, and truely not sure of when her departure time, so with a shrug and a smile Leshok decided his parting gift would just be a gift.
"Labelle, would you trust this man but a brief moment?" Leshok asked as they stood staring out into the ocean. Labelle nodded and Leshok gently took her hand, turning it palm up ward. "Close your eyes but a moment" he spoke as she closed her eyes and he gently placed the paper butterfly into her palm and closed her hand. Gently releasing her hand she drew it close to her, and immediately she seemed intrigued by the items smiling as she looked it over and viewed it. Leshok watched happily as she looked over the item admiringly, he knew he had picked the right item.
Looking at the sky Leshok had another idea "Would M'lady trust me a second time" he asked. Labelle responded with a yes as Leshok gently took her hand in his and began to trace the outline of the constelations with their joined hands naming them. Labelle seemed to truely delight at this and quickly caught on, smiling more than Leshok had ever seen. Together they traced the outlines of a few constellations, neither shying from each others touch at that moment. A brief pause had them looking each other in the eyes smiling, then as if almost a mutual thought, they released one anothers hands, and said their farewells for the evening. Neither wishing to chance of one becoming to bold, and ruining such a deep moment between the two you paladins.
He could see her face was flushed, and quite red, despite her attempts to hide it, and when he asked to make sure she was alright, and that he wasn't making her uncomfortable, she answered by saying that her response and emotions caused by tonight were natural. Leshok smiled to her and they shared parting words and seperated for the night. _________________ After all these years, I'm still putting up with Kuja and Vaen? whats wrong with me?
