~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Milord Celebrant,
This Lady arrived late the night past
to the edifice of the Church. Looking
greatly forward to the contemplation
accompanying your sermons, upon
my stay.
Milord, your lady of the Church
expressed your departure bore
disquiet.
Please Milord, be not discouraged.
The accomplishments of the
church, hollowed.
Yours Faithfully,
~Lady LaBelle~
Moving through the foyer, LaBelle exited, making her way up the stairflights to her resting place. She removed her skirt, resting herself to the furs. One long strap, and thrice over, she set the sandles atop.
Her legs becoming chilled, forthwith she removed her remaining garments, and slipped the robe from it’s chest and over her head. She rest her head to the bedroll, and reached for the near binding. Placing the book to her chest a moment, briefly her thoughts, singular, to the exchange with his Lord Majere...
Lifting the book in another moment, she carefully turned to the page a ribbon marked. Had there been one to look upon her, they might a look of marvel, for the Lady slept with a book upon her chest...A favorable curve of her lips, stilled. |
A note written on heavy stock plain parchment placed upon a pile of books in LaBelle’s quarters at the Holy Church of the Virtues.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Milady and friend LaBelle
I understand how the Lady Ellesbeth could have interpreted my demeanor as one of disquiet, but it was more a feeling of impotence. I do on occasion attend and observe a few of the meetings held within our community and hear often the Virtues declared as a center, an anchoring point, or even the basis of a driving force for many. I find it difficult to relate these declarations with the seeming indifference to the Holy Church of the Virtues and in particular to our services. I am fraught with concern for the future of the Virtues as the central pillar of out peoples when seemingly few seem capable of investing a small parcel of their time to renew themselves in the Virtues.
I wish to thank you for your concerns and desire to put them to rest. I still hold to hope that, with time, there will be an awakening within our friends and they will find the Holy Church of the Virtues as a source of refreshment and vitality in their quest to follow the Paths of Light in Virtue. I feel that time will come, until then we who are Lightbringers will do as we can to further spread the Virtues.
Perhaps we shall reach a point where we do not wait twice each month wondering whether or not we will have the minimum five souls necessitated to sanctify out services. Until that time, I shall keep hope eternal and do, as I am able, to be at one with the Virtues.
In Virtue,
Bartholomew
