My Dearest Lady,

I hope this missive finds you well and in good spirits. It has been so long since we had a quiet moment to sit and talk, and as of recent the only break in the silence that fill our hall is the echoes of my own footfalls. I have busied myself with cleaning the hall, from top to bottom, changing and washing the bed linens, and ensuring that the infirmary is well stocked with fresh bandages, potions, and herbs.

The weather here, has been very cool, as one would expect this time of year, and the rains frequent. We even have the occasional light snow. A small Owl has taken up residence in the rooftop garden and has become quite used to my presence near his chosen perch. He has a humorous and sleepy demeanor, however he is not the best of house guests and leaves the remains of his meals scattered throughout garden. But I suppose that is the way of Owls. While I was sweeping off the front steps this morn, I noticed that the Daffodils and Crocuses were pushing skyward and in a few days will be in bloom. It gladdens my heart, to think that spring is not that far off, and soon the fields, glens, and meadows will be a riot of color to assail ones eyes and nose.

My recent injury is healing well, the salve recipe that her Highness Molly provided me with, has proven most beneficial in my recovery, although the smell of Oranges does grow tiresome. The pains in my head are all but gone, and for the most part, my vision has returned to normal, only bothering me after prolonged reading. I still experience spells of dizziness, but take care to ascend and descend the stairs slowly, and also when mounting and dismounting my steed. The healer assures me that these spells will fade with time. My hair is growing rapidly and will soon be long enough to once again braid.

The ladies of Spirtwood are having a Valentine party this eve, and it is promised to be quite a gala event. I have pressed my best dress and will attend for awhile. If I feel up to it. I must admit that I’m very curious to see what goes on, since I had such a grand time during their Holiday party some two months past.

I pray that the roads you travel are safe ones, and that peace and health are yours.

Your Sister in Virtue,

Mia
