Twas a fairly warm night and again, Rufus had found himself in a new bed. It had seemed that as of late, as to nay be far from his wife, Rufus would migrate with each week to be with her where she lay her head. The house rested in the forest of Malas, nay too far from Poet’s Garden. It was crafted in beautiful sandstone, and at glance would remind one of Nujel’m inner city; golden walls and sparkling entrances to the various openings of the halls. Rufus lay beside his dearest Sarah, his arm draped just over her shoulder, holding to her. Twas recently, that Rufus had met with the spirit of Alarin…talks of Spiritmancy and gifts galore; Knowledge…simplicity…answers. The ability to craft objects of golden hue with his will, the ability to craft destinies should time allow. Never though, had visions been so clear. Twas oft that he saw the Regency table, members of the Britannian guard standing’ round, watching as the on-lookers prayed upon the words that came from the loyalists mouths. Rufus was proud.

-It seemed that Rufus had a new sense of being about himself. Confident, and quick to action. Never before had he understood the true ability he had, in both the Regency and in himself. Just several nights before, He stood along side his brothers and sisters in Virtue. All in Poet’s Garden, The Britannian Guard, The Legion of Justice, and The House of the Gauntlet, and to greet a common enemy, Tarothin. In the moment of their meeting, all so closely drawn together, Rufus’s mind was blank, he ignored the situation as a whole. An overwhelming feeling of positivity had overcome him. In reality, he had seen what he dreamed of, and what so many Loyalists, and Light Bringers had dreamed of. When the Beast lay on the floor of the tavern, his body dwarfing the onlookers, Rufus saw the greatest alliance of all – Unified Light standing side by side. It was a grand night…-

Rufus had slid his arm from around Sarah’s small frame. As he stood up, he wiped a bit of sweat from his brow and balled up his shirt in his fists, sliding it up over his head. His eyes quickly adjusted to the darkness, as he silently walked to the Balcony, overlooking the oasis-style garden. He looked to the sky for a moment and then glanced to his tightened biceps. It seemed that his tattoos had become darker, permanent. The symbol of Rebirth, a thing Rufus was familiar with. He raised his hand, brushing the marking under his eye as he slowly fell to his knees. He bowed his head to the ground, taking in a deep breath with his eyes closed.

“I have again found that which I am. That which I stood for, Simplicity, Balance. I thank you for the vision and gift to lead and walk with a people that will seek their own growth. And those that shant will be touched with the hand that is humble despite his wealth. A wealth of knowledge and worldly things; blessings. The conundrums that I face and the ability to overcome the obstacles that fall before me on the paths I walk. As Sisthinos prophet and Lord British’s Regent I shall work swiftly in the fall of a great evil…”

Rufus bit his lip for a moment, and sat upright. He raised his head to the sky and spoke aloud, “Allow me the time to end this, and subdue that which does nay belong…to make room for another.”

He stood slowly, taking in a deep breath. He smiled a bit, turning to enter the bedchamber. The soft sheets covered his body and he fell into a peaceful sleep. He had his targets…his mission…now to execute. On the morrow he would work with his Spiritmancy…

Balance Tempered By Virtue...
