EIGHT YEARS AGO BY THE EASTERN SKYS:
"Stay your anger and make ready to grip the swords of Justice, tempered mightily with the Light of a noble, ancient Spirtuality. I shall return, but shortly..."
Arieus was by no means the smartest being in the realm, yet he had traveled many places. There was no greater place of power he had witnessed, at least in ancient, arcane arts then that of Molly’s original home at Rivendell. As the other members of The Gauntlet stood around in mourning and disbelief, it was the Lord of The Gauntlet who pondered only with a strange smile and unusually calm demeanor. Others then looked to him, and wondered why he seemed too apathetic.
Now, it was time to tell all that the material and the spiritual, in some places within Sosaria are not so easily distinguished, and hold vast amounts of knowledge, lore, and above all, strenuous and long time work to perfect. Molly, the Elven Grand Duchess was not so easy departed from her course in life, and there were numerous reasons for this. Recently, a tour of the ancient Elven city of Rivendell was privileged to Arieus by Molly herself, as one of the few pure humans left to secrets there; he knew precisely what to do.
Gathering his gear for the dangerous, lonely trip to the Tower of Rivendell, Arieus bid the members of the Gauntlet farewell, and would return soon with good news. Squelching his inward temper at the cowardly and ignorance of the assassins work, he inwardly prepared himself for the journey. He knew the the recent fate that had befallen his liege would be turned to the advantage of the forces of light:
“Foolish Assassins, they know not, that we had been waiting for this very act, and to follow will be only further Light.”
He also knew the repercussions of The Virtues, namely Spirituality tempered with Justice were indeed among the most profound and outright explosive. The Grand Duchess would return with Spirituality anew and at full strength, her presence thus being very close to that plane, and the swift sword of Justice ready to gain advantageous ground in the material world. Little did the assassins know, but those of a truly virtuous heart, taken by said violent means, was cause for great wrath and illumination of the glorious, noble virtue of Justice, and it’s strike would be indeed profound and shocking.
Hence, that place of power, on the Western Fields of Felucca, Brittain laid the ever present City of Rivendell. Arieus proceeded, with due caution to that long ago, carefully and meticulously prepared place, of which was heavily warded. Only “The Chosen” could pass, material or spiritual, for the long dead watchers and seers of Rivendell were not favorable to trespassers. Just maybe they would remember the Lord of The Gauntlet, his previous visit to them not long past.
Placing all his weapons in a secure container, his clothing, save a simple robe, Arieus slowly, cautiously climbed those ancient steps, to the Elven place of power, and there he waited for what was likely soon to be a spectacle of fusion betwixt the prime material and the spirit. He was the material link, and he only hoped that he was strong enough to endure the Virtuous fury that would soon partake this place.
He called out for Molly Willow to be reunited, for her work in this life was not yet complete, and indeed favorable to The Spiritual, should she be allowed to complete said tasks. They could have her in due time, and it was not yet an option of the spirits to keep her. He waited, and his wait was not long, for the runes of Rivendell were at full charge.
Arieus was temporarily blinded by a brilliant flash and deafened by the sounds of ancient voices his pathetic, mortal self could not interpret. The only thing he did realize was that strange Elven music filled him with joy, and then, he simply passed into unconsciousness.
"...and now, the Lights wrath will befall the wicked, and have mercy on thier souls, for I shalt have only what Humility and Compassion allows, and for this heinous act, their shalt be very little." _________________
