Rushing back to the palace after being told that Rufus had awaken, Sarah breathlessly looks in on her husband from the doorway of the bedchamber and sees a renewed man. Freshly bathed and dressed he stands with his back towards the doorway reading something in his hand. The chamber is charged with energy and an extreme power of will, fighting off the ever present fatigue that wishes to take hold upon him again.

Quietly she enters the room, scanning the floor, desk and bed which are now littered with papers. Watching him brood over the parchment held in his hand, Sarah slowly bends down and picks up the forgotten papers. Worried that he is trying to do too much too soon, Sarah places the papers on the desk then approaches him. Gently placing her hand on his arm he turns and smiles.

“Come with me when I go speak with Isk.” Rufus says before placing a kiss upon her forehead. With a nod in return she knows it must be done and goes ahead of husband to seek out Isk. Finding the strange masked man that once held her spell-bound all alone, she seeks his protection and tells him that Rufus will be joining them. Within minutes Rufus along with a loyal guard arrives.



Thus the meeting begins…Rufus putting forth his decree that he will remain Regent, forceful and diligent in purpose and resolve, dissolving away Isk’s doubts of his intentions and renewing his bride’s faith in him once again.


Through extreme effort Rufus explains to Isk how he pondered upon this decision to remain, that it was not and did not come to him easily. That much work is needed to repair the damage that has been inflicted upon the Loyalists and to strengthen the Regency.




Before Rufus leaves, he is assured of Isk's stance and aid in making his will become reality. Sensing that the fatigue has weaken him, Rufus bids his friend good night and departs. Leaving the two Ambassadors alone to put forth plans to bring things to fruition.
