The fire of the hearth burned strong and bright. Lighting up the couple that lay on the bear rug together in front of it. The cold, howling wind from the storm outside could be heard as if moaning, but inside the Armunn bedchamber, all was calm and warm. A sensual silence that permeated throughout the room....

Ditto's body sprawled ontop of her husband, leg bent at an angle over his and held herself upright on an elbow, while her other arm was free to do her bidding. She lowered her hand that gently grasped a tiny, steaming paint brush and dipped it down to Tarothin's chest.
Bodyart was a favored hobby of hers, but she had only before used her own skin. Now she was using Tarothin as her canvas.
He lay on his back, resting his head on his hands beneath him. His eyes closed and a slight satisfied smile played on the edges of his mouth, revealing his now very apparent fangs.
She took a moment to gaze down into his face. He didn't seem bothered by the hot brush biting into his skin, and if he did, he didn't show it. She had to press deeper into him than she had with herself once she discovered that his regeneration would erase the lines unless she did. She didn't know if the smile was for her or for some plan he was comtemplating. All she knew was that he was the most captivating man she had ever seen. It didn't seem to matter the form. Whether human, beast, or somewhere inbetween, he was beautiful to her.
Tarothin opened his eyes after noting her stillness and his smile warmed when he saw her admiring him. Ditto smiled back down at him lovingly, and went back to working on the small symbols on his chest.

Both seemed lost in their own thoughts while enjoying each other's company. The sensualness of the atmosphere seemed to relax Ditto out of the worry and frustration of the past few weeks.
Tarothin's appearance now looked truely to be halfway between daemon and man. A physical revelation to his way of reasoning and temperment since returning from their long stay in her homeland. He would rarely be seen outside of his dark robe now, yet those that knew him well, could still notice the difference in his size. Ditto knew that some who looked at the man she loved , might think him a fearful sight, even monsterous to a few, but that normally included those with more delicate sensabilites. She had spent her days combing different areas of Sosaria for any information she could find to help with the situation. And had even gone so far as to reveal the problem to a close friend in hopes of getting his help. She hoped now, that together, they might find a way to at least delay Taro's transformation. But, it was obvious that without the missing chest, time was against them.
If Tarothin found out she had spoken of this with Galnor, he might be furious with her. Though a trusted friend to both she and Tarothin, Galnor was still considered to be an outsider to those of the Dark Order.
Ditto shifted her weight uncomfortably on Tarothin to work on a different area of the design and tried to think of other things.

From off in the distance she heard the sound of the study door closing and Imryrr's footsteps going to the teleporter on her way out. Ditto frowned. She wasn't sure what had transpired between father and daughter, but whatever had happened, had caused Imryrr to become even more obsessed with training. To the point of sneaking out at night. Or at least thinking she was sneaking. Her daughter worried her much lately. She was so stiff and cold. There was no doubt that Imryrr had an evil nature or that she dissaproved of her mother's chaotic ways. Ditto's knack for looking into a person's heart had shown her some very disturbing things about Imryrr and she blamed herself. Melniboneans were a race born without compassion or the ability to truly love another person. Ditto had been an exception to the rule. A freak of her race as her own mother pointed out to her many times. Imryrr, however, was not an exception. She had indeed inherited that part of her cruel nature from her Melnibonean side. From Ditto. The only odd thing was that how Imryrr's position on law and order worked remarkably hand in hand with what was normally chaotic traits. If Ditto had to put a description to it, she would say Imryrr was a Lawful Evil Melnibone with a human appearance.
Lawful Melnibone? Ditto suddenly giggled at the thought, causing her hand that clutched the sharp, hot paintbrush to bite down deep into Tarothin's flesh. He made no movement other than to open one eye to look at her for a moment before shutting it again to go back to his own thoughts.
Ditto worried that Imryrr's natural thirst for power might one day override her feelings for her father to the point that she might find even him a threat to her own goals in life. She knew Imryrr couldn't love her, and that realisation cut her deeply, but the thought of her going against Tarothin.....well, that wasn't the case, and at least for now, would be unthinkable for Imryrr to do such a thing.

And then there was Daerauko. Their oldest child. Their son. He was brilliant in his own right. He could be hard and cold like his father could be at times, yet, also like Tarothin, his heart was warm with a great capacity to love. He seemed more drawn to mysteries and adventures than he did the rigid life of a soldier, and it was that drive that gave him reason to start his own trainings in his own way, apart from Tarothin's influence. She missed him greatly, but knew that they had his love no matter where he might be.
Daerauko and Imryrr. Two totally different children with such a difference in personalities that it was uncanny, yet the siblings had bonded and formed a trust between them that Ditto couldn't begin to fathom, yet was very thankful for.

Ditto smiled and absentmindedly began to hum a tune as she became engrossed in her painting. Tarothin smiled at hearing it. His wife was happy and he prefered her that way. He removed his hands from behind his head and reached down to gently grab her legs. She stopped her painting to look up at him with a puzzled and annoyed expression on her face. His roguish, fanged grin told her what she needed to know and her eyes smoldered with anticipation as he slid her body down his frame further.

....The firelight flickered as a sudden howl of wind went down the chimney masking only slightly the sound of the couple's muffled chuckles and giggles. A bowl of steaming paint landed soundly against the stonework of the hearth and a dark blue stream of paint trickled down to the floor.
