The paladin rushed through the woods of Trinsic, protecting the forest from monsters and other evil was his duty, and now he chased evil. He was a handsome young man, with long hair and light blue eyes. It was told that he was one of the greatest knights of virtue and order among the lands. He was in search from any left of the raid.

***

Growing up in the town of Trinsic with his mother and father, the paladin was an only child. From the earliest age possible he was taught many lessons leading to becoming a paladin. His father was a highly ranked officer in the Trinsic military, his mother a well-respected lady among the lands.

As he grew into the years of teens, he was taught more and more about fighting. Each guard offered to teach him a different way of knighthood but only one stood out for him. Chivalry and maces were his two best styles of fighting. He could take on impossible numbers with only a mace in his hand, and his spells in his head.

Trinsic was his safe hold, no matter how rough this got he could think of his home. The safest and most beautiful place among the lands. Paladin guards protected the walls, and he and a few others protected the woods. He was nearing his twentieth year of life, the year that he would finally become a true paladin.

The night of his twentieth birthday had arrived. The town was becoming much more impatient; they wanted to see this one become a paladin. Over the years he had fought as a Trinsic wood scout, he had demonstrated unbelievable potential. The ritual that the clerics were preparing for this one would be unforgettable.

“Gerosh, Gerosh come here!” his mother exclaimed. She had waited two decades to see her boy become a paladin.

“What is it mother?” he asked.

“Your father has prepared a suit for you. It’s the armor he wore when he too became a paladin. He would like you to wear this armor to show that you are his boy.” She smiled incredibly.

“Where is he now?”

“He has already gone to the temple”

Gerosh nodded slightly, accepting the gift from his mother he made away into his room. It hadn’t taken him long to dress himself in the magnificent armor. He was soon ready to leave for the temple.

The dark priest spoke loudly over the troops, his long black robe dragging across the ground as he paced back and forth. He had waited many years to finally strike against the town of Trinsic, and tonight would be it. He held his hands out crying out to the army.

“Storm their forest, and then their walls! Take no prisoners, and show no mercy!” his voice echoed loudly.

***

Gerosh kneeled before the clerics as they chanted together in unison. Extending their hands in front of them they pointed down at him. Chanting louder they raised their arms in the air, creating a circle of fire around his body.

Between the flames and the armor he was beginning to grow extremely hot. Sweat dripped from his face to the ground. He dare not look into the eyes of the clerics of Trinsic, so he kept his head bowed.

An hour or so passed, when they had told him to rise. He was now a full paladin, and accepted the weight of knighthood on his shoulders. He was in the middle of being congratulated when the warning bell rang loudly. Trinsic was under attack.

Gerosh rushed off before any of the other guards were prepared. Rushing into the enemy ranks he swung his mace fiercely. Blocking several blows from every angle he pushed on into the ranks. By himself he fought determinedly, crying out in fury. Repeatedly chanting out words while swinging, he would release a divine fury towards his enemies. The other paladins had finally joined in the battle.

The enemies were soon defeated. Gerosh single handedly took out 1/3 of their forces. He was not satisfied; he set into the woods alone to look for survivors.

As he searched the woods he didn’t hear the person following him. Dipping back and forth between trees the assassin crept up. Word of this great new paladin had traveled through the lands, and many enemies feared him. The assassin was finally behind him, thrusting forward before Gerosh could hear him.

Gerosh felt the cold metal of the dagger sink into his kidney. Pain coursed through his body, he slowly dropped to his knees, determined not to show weakness. He closed his eyes and accepted the defeat, accepted the kill from a coward of the shadows. His blood poured against the ground. The assassin quickly put a container near the wound and allowed the blood to filter into it.

Gerosh laid dead on the defeated by an assassin. With all of his abilities, all of his talent he was no match for a surprise attack. The guards had found his body and reported it to the town.

(Part two coming soon. Didn't want people to get bored of reading something extremely, really long Razz)
