It wasn’t long after Charger read the bounty report that he set out. He sent his hawk on a round about to gather as many of his boys as possible. Unfortunately they were all off doing other things, except one. His cook was soon at his side, club in hand and ready to do battle. Charger slightly shrugged and set off for the Tree Fellows.

Trotting along the road their eyes were peeled open for any sign of moving trees. Than it happened, a loud thud came from behind. The tree had clubbed the cook right off his steed. The Tree Fellow quickly followed up with a rushing trunk like foot towards The Muffin Man. The cook was able to grasp the foot in both of his hands. Glaring coldly up the stock of the tree he flexed his muscles, lifting the trees leg up a bit. Charger stood on the sidelines observing, why was it taking the cook so long, he wondered to himself. At about the time the thought went through his head, the cook rolled out from under the tree and quickly beat it down with his club.

“Finally.” Charger spoke quite loudly. The cook simply smirked and took charge in the southern part of the woods. Charger turned and made way to the northern part. Galloping through on his magical steed, torch in hand, he searched for the Tree Fellows. Finally gazing his eyes upon one he stormed towards it, lodging the torch in between its leg and torso he rode on. The tree was soon burnt to the ground, tearing it open Charger found the loot. Gold pieces, and logs dragged along its feet.

The two spent a short period of time in the woods. It didn’t take long for The Muffin Man to beat down the southern side, and for Charger to blow apart the northern. The two had rendezvous on the road leading to Umbra. They had what they came for, just enough to please the payer.

Charger had gone out of his way earlier that day to confront Beowulf Thormear. He had shown him the parchment of the bounty. Beowulf nodded slightly to himself, he knew who the payers were, quite well. Charger had asked how to get a hold of them, where to go and what to do.

“They are a bunch who you don’t wan’ to cross. Make yer way to their temple; try not to argue with them. They travel in large packs, depending on the amount of boy’s yer planning on takin, I’d be careful.” He handed the parchment back and explained how to get there from the road.

Charger and The Muffin Man were following these directions now. They made their way around a corner and approached a darkened forest. Trees they weren’t all too familiar with hung around them. They made they were quickly through the forest, seeking the temple. Emerging from the forest they saw what Beowulf had described. Slowly pressing their way towards it they met a girl, a not so polite one at that. She told them to come back later; a payer would most likely be there.

It was later on in the eve; all of his boys had turned in or gone away for different means of action. Strapping on his cloak, and tugging on his gloves, Charger soon made his way to the temple once again. He didn’t like having to go back there, it wasn’t the most pleasant of places, but nothing was going to stop him from getting his pay.

He arrived at the temple, this time a man was there. He was even more useless than the girl. The man crossed his arms in front of his chest, trying to intimidate Charger he supposed. The man asked what his business was in that land, and he replied as simply as possible.

“I wan’ my money.”

“I don’t know what your talking about.” Replied the man.

“The bounty said The Ebon Skull were paying for the slaughter of some Tree Fellows up the way.”

“I still have no idea what you mean.”

“I suggest ye start gettin more involved with yer Order.” Charger began to speak coldly. He didn’t appreciate being scammed out of his money.

“I will return soon, I wan’ me pay!”

Charger returned home shortly after. Storming into his house he sat down at the dining table. Sweat pored from his temples; he was losing his patients again. Breathing slowly he calmed himself. Grabbing a piece of parchment and a quill from his bag he wrote a letter to The Ebon Skull.

“I best get me pay soon…”
