The chest.
It hadn't been found. Ditto had hoped so hard that it would have been found and waiting for Tarothin upon their arrival, but still...no word of the chest. With the chest, Ditto might be able to find a way to help her husband with his current condition, but even if it were gone from the face of the world that would be better than the thought of it being in the wrong hands. The hands of someone who might wish harm on her beloved.
With a saddened sigh, Ditto plopped herself down upon the soft polarbear rug in front of their bedchamber hearth. A sudden worried thought struck her worse than any physical blow could. Did she even remember what his eyes looked like without the red tint in them? Those wonderful blue eyes that she could so easily & willingly get lost in. Ditto struggled to remember them. How he looked that day they first met in Jhelum. The day night he told her that he loved her. She could see everything so clearly in her memory...everything except his eyes. Even in her memories, his eyes were tinged red as they were now. Ditto layed her face in her hands and wept in quiet sad frustration. She had promised him that she would not forget his eyes, yet she had failed to keep that promise. She had promised herself she would help Tarothin, yet every day seemed to bring some new sign that the daemon side of him would have its way. So far, she was failing that promise too, and now she was running out of time. She couldnt even find the chest to help him with and didn't know what else to do. What else? There had to be something she could do. Something she could try. She couldn't lose him now. They'd been through so much together and his children needed their father, their whole father, as he was completly and was suppose to be, not just the daemon that he was.
Ditto tried again to remember his eyes as they were suppose to be. She thought back to the time when they first danced together. He had amnesia because his brothers had tried to rid him completely of the daemon. It was only a short dance but had brought something to his memory and that small thing had led the way for other memories. And a few years later she had amnesia and there they were again, dancing together. She had looked up into his eyes and....That was it! Amnesia!
If he had amnesia again that might make things go back to normal for him. Well, minus his memory. But, Ditto thought that curing amnesia would be alot easier than curing his current condition. And besides....she had to try something. When he had had problems with the daemon before, then amnesia had worked wonders. Maybe, just maybe it would work again. It was a chance. And a chance she would take.
But there was a problem with her idea. How to give him amnesia.
Wiping to dry her eyes quickly, Ditto jumped up off the polarbear rug and ran to Tarothin's study. Luckily, she had the room to herself and could find the book she needed without having to explain anything.
A short while later, Ditto smiled excitedly when she mumbled a passage to herself. '...normally caused by a blunt object hitting the head....'
When she was done reading the section, she closed the book and began to think, her tongue pressing against her upper lip and her eyes moving about the room. A blunt object. A blunt object. What kind of blunt object would be best to hit him with? As if in answer to her question, her eyes rested on the 'crooked stick' leaning against a book shelf that her brother Maximus had given her half as a joke. A Daemon Slayer.
Ditto bit her lip in a mischivious and happy grin and began to plot her next move.

Later that day.....

"Ditto, love, why are you hitting me with that stick?" Tarothin asked with a bemused, but slightly annoyed smile, while his wife, who stood behind him continued to beat as his head with her daemon-slayer crook.
At hearing his question, she knew her plan wasn't working, and so she stopped, quickly trying to hide the crook behind her, but not before Tarothin turned and glanced it. His eyes flashed a light red when he looked down at his wife, waiting for her answer. With her hands behind her, holding the crook, Ditto smiled up into his face. "What stick?" she asked nervously.
Tarothin still stood patiently waiting for her 'honest' answer, but Ditto didn't want to say and so she began to think of what possible good reason she could give for beating her husband in the head. "Ohhh..you mean my crook? I.....umm.." Ditto glanced around the room once and then blurted out the first thing that came to mind. "...I tripped."
"Several times?" Though his smile broadened down at her, it was not a happy smile. She was lying. He didn't have time for this.
Aftter a small, quick argument, Tarothin waved off the incident and turned to face the soldiers in the throneroom to finish discussing the business he had before they'd been interrupted when Ditto jumped out from behind the throne.

Ditto only half heard the discussion as her mind raced for a new way to give him a blow to the head and suddenly came up with an idea. One more enjoyable than using the crook, and a gleam came into her eyes when she stepped forward to speak. "Tarothin, I need to kiss you. I really really need to kiss you. Right here and now."
Tarothin stopped what he was saying and looked at his wife with amusement. "Really?"
Ditto nodded, "Really", and pointed behind him at the stone wall. "Right there. Against that wall."
There seemed to be an odd silence that hit the room and the two newest DarkOrder soldiers exchanged glances and began making their excuses to leave the two alone for privacy.
Tarothin knew his wife all too well. She was up to something. But to find out what, he would humor her. He told her as much when he walked over to stand against the wall and waited for her.
Ditto approached him slowly, almost nervous. Kissing her handsome husband wasn't the problem. Bringing herself to try to hurt him, was. The intention was to try to bang his head into the stonewall. To have a chance at doing this, with his strength compared to hers, she would have to catch him completely offguard. Not an easy task by any measure. He was an extremely passionate lover who was use to giving her his full attention at such times, but this time would not be like most. Ditto was a natural seductress due to her free spirit and emense joy of pleasure, however, faking anything when it came to him was nearly useless, and Tarothin could see right through it now. She slowly lifted her hands to his hair and brought herself up to begin kissing him. As their lips touched, she began to lose her train of thought, and began to forget the plan. As she felt herself slipping into the feel of him, Ditto stiffened back up stubbornly and decided that if she was going to do this, she would have to do it now or the plan would be lost to a kiss.
Grabbing him by the hair on either side of his head, Ditto tried with one hard movement to push his head into the stone wall behind him. Tarothin barely budged. Hoping, that maybe he hadn't noticed what she tried to do, Ditto continued kissing him. Tarothin reached up and brought her hands down slowly and then confronted his wife with what she had hoped to accomplish.
An argument ensued between them and during this time people had walked into the throneroom. Mairsil and Ceinwyn stood quietly to the side and waited. Once their presence was noticed, Ditto stepped off and Tarothin approached them to conduct guild business. During their conversation, Ditto again thought of her crook. She looked up and watched as Tarothin turned his attention away and his back was facing her. Without a second thought, Ditto slowly walked over behind him.....
