Sanctus, her friends, and followers of light,

It is with great regret that I must step down as ruler of Sanctus. The years have taken their toll, and twilight hour of my life is upon me.

Long have I served the people of Brittania and the light. Long and difficult has been the path I have followed. Many memories will I hold dear, both good and bad. The light is strong with the people of the realm, and I know it shall be long after I am dust.

To the followers of light:

Remember what we stand for. Remember those who have fought and died in the struggle against darkness. Never forget our sacrifices and deeds. We are never truly dead until we are forgotten.

As my final act in this life, I hereby name Andre Dragonbane, my son-in-law, and Duke of Sanctus, as rightful heir to the Kingdom of Sanctus and her people.

Please give Andre the love and support you have shown me.

I will love and remember you all fondly. May the Virtues shelter and guide you in the struggle that I will not live to see ended.

To my liege lord and dear friend,

It is truly sad to see you retire from the realms which you have so valiantly and virtuously been a part. I will always remember you with the utmost respect and brotherly love. Not only were you my role model, you were my leader, friend, father-in-law, and comrade in arms, and brother paladin. I am at a loss for too many words save that you will indeed be in my thoughts and prayers always.

I will try my best to see that Sanctus lives on in the realm. Already just today I have had three very wonderful citizens and soldiers approach me and re-joined the guild.

I met with Lady Sadira Reflov this afternoon. Your Golden, Order of Sanctus armor, titled kilt, bandana, and cloak as well as your trustworthy sword, “Ice!” and your personal bless deed with your name displayed have all been donated, as promised, to the Charles Everblue Memorial of Helmsgate.

The realm has lost a great man, but has also gained much from your presence, a noble spirit that will live on forever in our hearts and minds.
