"Surely that drinking binge could not have lasted this long!"

Were the words that echoed in Velma's mind as she once again made her way to the privy. Breti had looked upon his wife wondering what kind of drink she had gotten herself into. She had nearly ran Breti over making her way to the privy.

"No I will be fin..bleh."

Could be heard as Breti made mention of getting a healer. It has been two weeks that Velma has found herself looking down at the wonderful thing called the toilet. She weakly made her way back to their bed settling down and snuggling up. Breti's concern was shown on his face. He had never seen his wife this ill or this weak..not even when she nearly drank the Drunken Dragon dry. While she rested, he quickly made a dispatch to one of the local healers. When Velma awoke from a nice nap, she was staring at the face of the healer.

"ACK!"

The sound was heard and before either knew what was going on, Velma had her mace in her hands and had jumped out of the bed. Her legs were weak from the lack of substanial food.

"Who the He..."

She looks to Breti.

"You didn't. I told you I would be alright."

Breti's look on his face made Velma cave in.

"Alright. Just to to show you that I am FINE..I will let the healer see me."

The healer at this time was near the door shaking in his sandles. He looks to Breti..then to Velma and back to Breti.

"Well what the hell you waiting for?"

She asked the healer who just gave her this look of *please dont hurt me.* It was then that Breti came up to her and placed a hand on her arm. His touches always had an effect on her..calming her down. She sighs.

"Well I am waiting for him..what's is problem now?"

Breti just offers her a smile.

"Well dear, you may wish to put the mace down. You are abit less intimidating when you dont have it in your hands."

She looked down at the mace and blushed with an embarassed smile.

"Oh.."

Was all she said, as she placed the mace down. The healer had informed Breti that he should wait elsewhere while he checked Velma. Breti agreed and left the room. Velma gets back on the bed, as another wave of queasiness takes hold of her belly. She holds on to it figthing it long enough to get this healer out of her room. After a couple of hours of poking and questions...the healer was happy with this diagnosis and just smiled at her.

"Well m'lady..you are quiet healthy even despite your..well umm drinking habit. But I fear you must stop drinking for a while."

Velma looks at him with narrow eyes.

"Give me ONE good reason why I should, if I am so healthy."

The healer nods his head in respect and says two words.

"Your baby."

Velma sat there speechless. Her blinking was the only indication that she was still alive. She shakes her head.

"Excuse me...but did you say..Baby? Surely I..I mean..no..really?"

She said in a dumbfounded tone her hand going to her belly automatically. The queasiness she had felt was subsided or forgotten about as this new information was registering in her head. It felt like an eternity had passed when the healers voice broke her thoughts.

"M'lady I asked you..would you want me to tell m'lord?"

Velma looks up at him..shaking her head.

"No..I will tell his lordship. Now..be on yoru way."

She then got out a small pouch of gold and handed it to the healer. He seemed quiet pleased with the payment though he was truly not expecting it. He opened the door and started to head out when he saw Breti making his way to him.

"Well?"

He said in a very concerned voice. The healer just shook his head.

"She wishes to speak to you m'lord."

With that the healer headed on his way. Breti looked at the door wondering if she was going to kick his butt for bringing in a healer cause she was truly alright..or if she had some horrid news to tell him. When he walked in..she just looked up at him.

"Take a seat."

She says, still dumbfounded from the news herself, her tone took on a serious note.

"Well no more drinking for me."

She says, as she looks into the eyes of her beloved husband. He had a look of complete concern.

"I am with child."

She spoke in a near whisper, almost as if she still was not sure about it herself.
