An ill wend blew outside of Nujel'm's palace. Rufus lay awake in bed, beside his beloved Sarah Oryan. With his arms folded on his chest, he slowly shifts his gaze to her sleeping face. He takes in a breath and leans over a bit, kissing her on her forehead softly. "Rest well my Queen." Within moments, Rufus stands silently over the bed, dressing in the dark. The moon outside their window silhouettes his body as he tosses his robe over his shoulders, and pulls a floppy hat down over his eyes. In moments…he exited the palace…Walking Calmly as if his exit meant nothing.

During Rufus’s time away, he had come to terms with many things; the realization of failure, the honest ambition of men set upon their goals, and a further grasp of things nay of this plane. Rufus began to understand true honesty. To grasp spirituality as he had preached it…he had to understand that which dwelled inside him. But to understand Dark and Light; Positive and Negative…twas what separated and determined his decisions. He held fast to honesty, truth, intelligence and positive endeavors. And tis what he would continue to hold to. To be at sea…to souls of capsized shipmates. Drowned victims, persons left to sea. So many energies to Harness…

Rufus rode atop a steed of Ethereal energies; a practice that followed him from his sabbatical. He exited the black moongate leading into the city of Umbra. Oh how the air smelt of negative energies. Rufus lowered his gaze a bit, for his presence was more than welcomed there, or so he’d learned from past experiences. Memories of his experiences with Alarin, and his spiritmancy lessons flashed through his head. Visions of the flickering Golden hue about his hand as he crafted small items. A lesson that held purpose…but with Alarin’s death, mayhaps it had become lost. But in time, as most scholars do, Rufus had grown fond of the factors of Knowledge, and to…completely understand and grasp the possibilities.

Rufus could feel the powerful energies in the air. He had slowly begun to understand what grasping this knowledge could allow him. The essence of the souls that traveled to that place would guide him to a new well. A place to study energies. As he moved swiftly atop the Ethereal steed, he slowed down just before the well. He took in a deep breath, and entered calmly. The forces within were so strong…they held…they held and tore at Rufus’s body lightly; and to resist had become fulfilling. He calmed himself after a few moments, and closed his eyes. Bright golden lights flickered in his head, his fists began to sweat, and his brow became furrowed. The intensity of just simple meditation in such a place was extreme. But mayhaps…it was worth it. As he stood, in deep trance, harnessing the anger about him, images of golden items were about his head. Gold…the Hue he and Alarin had agreed on for Rufus’s craftings. To think, it all begun with an apple.

But he would advance in time. Rufus planned to work to craft things that would exhaust him. Weapons…items…enchanted things. As felt the energies about him, and began to concentrate harder…he accepted what negativities he could. And in an instant, his concentration broken…

Behind him, stood a menacing figure. Eyes swirling, negativity emitting from him. Admoreth stood about Rufus, “Only those with permission are allowed to Enter the Well of Souls…” Rufus lowered his eyes a bit as the phrase hit his ears, “Then whom is permitted to enter?” Admoreth answered without hesitation, “The Lich Lord.” Rufus’s person shuddered a bit at the mention of the being. He pulled down the brim of his floppy hat, dressing in his Nujel’m colors of Blood Red and Black…”As I know I am nay welcomed here…I shall be on my way. Forgive my, study of energies…” Admoreth watched silently as Rufus took in a deep breath and exited the Well.

Most oft His greeting was nay a subtle. He was sure his presence there would be a burden…but it felt less that way. Still, he exited with concentration broken, and only a fraction of Energy understood. Rufus rode to Luna where he rest his head that night.

Tis said that during the night. Prayers were heard…Forgiveness asked…Oh his confusion…and it all from a man who was not Rufus Oryan.
