Thinking to my self another week and I will have to leave and return home. The last letter from her father asking why I have delayed returning home?. How can she return home now when she tis needed here more now then ever*thinks about what to do with a torn heart*
I could go home for a while and make my father happy one day with him then come back and no one has to know tis my birthday.
The poison running through my veins has slown down my ankled healed completely. The herbs galnor gave me for pain lays on the table untouched.
I hope Lord Arieus keeps my celebration quite as he promised me..

Arieus was smiling a little as he laid down to rest that eve. He had spent the better part of several weeks getting to know Lia L and some of her guild mates.

He thought back to their very first actual meeting at an Ancient Wyrm hunt, then to the friendly dinner, a few casual meetings here and there, onward to the picnic at the lighthouse, and then the weekend get together at the tavern. He then thought of today:

The day had passed rather quickly, but he had spent a good majority of it with Lia L. He thought to himself how truly Elven she was, and perhaps misunderstood by some because of this. She was also a young elf, by human comparison, she appeared to be an 18 year old woman, however, as he well knew, this was very young for a elf.

He then marveled at how intelligent she seemed to be, quiet, yet always careful and cautious. She was always very polite, and not to mention, quite beautiful.

Arieus was determined to keep the secret of Lia's upcoming birthday a private matter, and would dare not reveal same.

He was still confused on several matters, but, in time, perhaps things would be revealed.

He fell asleep and slept well.

The air was cool and crisp as it blew in through the open window above Keris’ bed. He had lain there most of the night tossing and turning, but it was not the chill that kept him awake. After several moments of frustration with his thoughts he kicked the sheets off of him and rolled out of bed. After throwing on a loose fitting pair of pants and tunic the young elf walked out of his bedroom and began to slowly climb the stairs, as if the burden on his mind was actually on his shoulders. He reached the third level of his house and slowly walked through the archways and out into his garden. Finding his favorite over stuffed chair, the young elf sat down. With no interest in any of the books strewn about he simply gazed out at the forest and the stars above it, with one thing…. one person on his mind.

“Lia” He said to himself. Lia, The leader of The Guardians of Vesper, his commander. Over the last several months he had grown infinitely closer to her then he had thought he possibly could. Where he once saw only a fellow warrior, he saw a good, trusted friend; Then from a friend to… what? “Could I possibly love her?” he thought to himself. The young elf’s mind drifted back to many weeks ago when he pulled Lia out of the dungeon despise, she was battered and bloody, with little coherence of what was happening to her. At the time, Keris felt for his friend, and did all he could to help her. But now… Just the other day on a hunt, Keris and Lia had passed the very spot he had found her and his blood turned cold, a chill ran up his spine and the young elf could not stand the thought of losing her.

“But, how does she feel about me?” was his next thought. Keris knew she had been spending a lot of time with Arieus De’Chevia from the Knights of Sossaria. It was then that Keris took a long look around his home and realized what he must look like. A penniless wanderer who was fortunate enough to be given a home again. Lia deserved everything she had ever wanted, and the elf knew he would never be able to give her more then a flower from this very garden.

Keris looked up at the sliver of moon that shown brightly in the clear sky as if looking for guidance and asked out loud, “Do I give up? Leave?” The thought of him being on the road again was a constant daydream to him. With the negotiations for the Vesper Town Council moving along swiftly Keris knew that the town would be in good hands. But, if he left… he wouldn’t be able to see her face anymore, he wouldn’t hear her voice or her laugh, her smile would haunt him, and he would worry about her terribly.

The young elf sighed and stood up to back downstairs, but before turning to leave he looked back up at the moon and spoke, “I shouldn’t have kissed her.” He then turned and walked back towards the stairs knowing that he would have regretted not kissing her.
