The sun was just climbing back up over the horizon as Bailos trudged into his basement laboratory, with two rather large crates in tow. Eagerly sealing the hidden doors behind him, he rung his hands on his robe, taking special care to dry them thuroughly before he smashed open the first crate.

With a gross, cracking noise, the body of 20-something, well built young man, that had previously been contorted inside the crate, spilled open on to the lab floor and his body now lay in a more natural position.

A look of terror still on the man's now rotting face, a grin overtook Bailos knowing that he picked a good one indeed. The man was dressed not unlike a miner, dirty, wearing a half apron and a thick, wool shirt. Bending low to scoop the deceased one from the floor, he moved him over to a cleared off lab table, making a point to outstretch the man's limbs best as possible. Pulling a small, empty, half barrel from underneath the table, he put it underneath the man's right arm, approximatly at the wrist. Grabing a skinning knife from a nearby shelf, he roughly split the man's wrist open and his semi-coagulated blood started seeping down, draining in to the barrel.

Propping the end of the table up that supported the man's head, so he rested at an angle, Bailos grabbed another bucket and positioned it at the foot of the table. Once again grabbing the skinning knife and in a similar fashion, he moved the man's right leg around and cut out a section of his pants, near the hip. With an eerie sense of masterfulness, he made a rather deep incision between the hip and the thigh, and blood started to poor from there, working it's way down the table, and in to the bucket. With the man now draining, he moved back to the second crate.

Kicking it twice, until the lid popped loose, he stooped over once more and dug through the second crates contents. Pulling out several racks of jars, he set them beside him. Digging in to a pocket in his robe, he pulled out the now folded 'shopping list' and glanced it over. Looking to the jars of blood, he said aloud.....

"Body..........check........
Blood.........check..........
Mutation core........*reaches hand back into crates, and he pulls out a glowing, even slightly pulsating, plague beast mutation core*.......check
Clockworks mechanisms......*he glances accross the room to a wall lined with various other mechanical impliments*...check...
'body parts'.......*Leaning over the crate, he peers down to take notice of a rather large right arm, severed at the shoulder, and a well built right leg pulled from an Orc, severed at the hip*....check"

Looking back over his shoulder, he checked on the body that was still draining of it's blood, and amusingly said aloud, "Dont go anywhere now, I'll be right over there" as he stood and crossed the dimly lit room.

Arriving at another workbench, this time covered with clock parts, mechanisms and a few items of armor. With one arm motion he cleared off half the table, swiping the clutter on to the floor. Pulling the chair out he pulled up a piece of platemail armor, designed in very odd proportions, made for the chest, and built with shadow iron. Setting it on the workbench, he pulled a hammer and metal pick over from the other half of the table and set them on top. Digging into his robe oncemore he pulled out another piece of paper that contained the odd schematics for runic markings. Laying this parchment to the side, he picked up the impliments and started his work....not a smithy by trade, he oh so carefully started to etch these odd runes on to the egdes of the armor, with the same care and style that a tailor would sew up a seemline.

The preparations were nearly completed
