Durin staggered out of the tavern in Minoc not looking his best after along talk with the bottom of a Ale Mug. Though Durin didnt know or believe he was drunk the tavern keeper had told him he had enough to drink. After a lengthy argument on how a dwarf hasnt had enough till his back down on the floor with his toes curled in his boots Durin finally gave up and left after taking one last bottle of Ale. As he walked outside of the tavern and back into the town of Minoc he had decided he would work off some of his anger by mining because what was a day without drinking and least alittle of mining that might bring some profit. Durin continued to walk towards the mines or so he thought when he suddenly noticed something was following him. He turned around and saw the strangest thing with his blurred vision he could have sworn before him stood a cat upright and worse it had wings! He approached the animal it then began to hiss at him.

Durin stared at the animal for a few moments trying to steady his vision by taking a drink of the ale bottle he had taken from the tavern when all the sudden the animal jumped towards him and latched onto his arms and began trying to pull the bottle from his grip while at the same time clawing Durins hand. Now this made Durin mad for one thing ye didnt do was mess with a dwarves ale. Durin started to curse the animal and yelling that he could have his ale. He then raised him pick axe and took a swing at the animal. The animal flew back and Durins pickaxe missed the mark. Durin now realizing this was no cat charged the flying beast and with one mighty swing drove the pointed end of his pick axe right though the skull of the animal. As the animal fell to the ground lifeless Durin approached the animal to get a closer look to his amazement laying before him was the biggest darn monbat he had ever seen! Durin scratched his beard and shook his head wondering how he could have mistaken something that big and ugly for a cat. Durin finally after what seemed like thirty mintutes finally turned to go back towards the mines but didnt realize he lost all his sense of his surroundings due to the fight and still be drunk so when he turned he ran smack dab into a tree knocking himself out.

After many hours Durin woke to the rise of the sun wondering what in the world happened to him and what in blue blazes he was doing on the ground outside the town of Minoc. He then used his pickaxe to help himself get up and then realized he had a headache like none he'd ever had before he then looked down on the ground and saw he a bottle of Ale on the ground and a few yards away the dead body of a Mongbat. Durin then laughed a bit realizing he must had a heck of a night he then turned towards the mines and started walking thinking some work may do him some good all the while wondering where the knot on his head came from..
