Almost immediately after departing from her guardians Domonick and Josef in Haven, she had ended up near the swamps where she stumbled upon a group of monsters she had never encountered before. Fighting them off to the best of her abilities trying to find a way to escape, she found herself in front of a beautiful house when just then a woman yelled to her. Mianna ran closer to the house, the monsters close behind, when the woman began casting powerful magics aiming it towards the monsters killing them all. Once Mianna had reached the steps and thanked the woman the woman asked her her name and then introduced herself as The Lady Reminisence. Lady Reminisence asked why such a young unexperienced girl was wandering through such a dark and dangerous area. Mianna only explained that she was out exploring and that the darkness seemed to call to her. After speaking with her for a little while, Lady Reminisence inquired where the young girl was staying. Mianna than explained that she had been staying at a small inn called Hanse's Hostel. Mianna explained to her how she was in search of a home so that she would have a place to call her own, something she had not had since her parents disappeared. Reminisence seemed to be lost in thought and Mianna thanked her for her kindness and was about to take her leave when Reminisence offered her a room in the house. Mianna was a bit hesitant at first, telling Reminisence that she would fair well at the inn but the woman insisted. Lady Reminisence took her inside and showed her around the house, telling her where things were and explaining the house rules.
Reminisence then took her next door to the tower that stood in the shadows. It was there that herself and her husband Lord Smogg Azalin spent most of their time, she had explained to the girl. For they ran a cult, The Cult of Infernal Necromancy it was called. Mianna was intrigued by this Cult and asked many questions. Reminisence explained a little about The Cult and what it required of its cultists and then excused herself and told Mianna she would meet with her later.
Mianna went back to the house and settled in. A few days passed and Mianna studdied most of that time, sometimes wandering around the streets of Umbra or training near the moongate in Haven. Mianna thought a lot about The Cult and what it could possibly do for her. She had yet to meet Lord Smogg and had wondered if he would accept such a girl as herself into his teachings. Mianna thought to herself, "It is time to find out." Using the rune that Reminisence had provided her with, Mianna went to the tower in search of Lord Smogg.
Instead of Lord Smogg, Mianna found Lady Reminisence at the tower. Her disappointment must have been showing, because her new friend inquired what was wrong. Mianna explained to her that she was hoping to find Lord Smogg here, she wanted to meet him and inquire about joining the cult. This pleased Lady Reminisence and she told Mianna to stay put and she would go find him. Mianna sat quietly waiting hoping that she would be acceptable to Lord Smogg for she needed some help in getting comtrol of the dark magics that were starting to overwhelm her.
Reminisence returned quickly saying Lord Smogg would be along soon. The women made small talk while they waited for him. Reminisence told Mianna of a house that she had heard was going to be available soon that Mianna should possible inquire about since her own home was becoming quite crowded. Lady Reminisence, it seemed, had an obsession with taking in young people without a home. Mianna understood this and told Lady Reminisence she would look into it right away.
Mianna could feel Lord Smogg's presence even before he entered the room. It made her a bit uneasy, for she sensed he was a very dark and powerful man. When he entered Mianna stood while Lady Reminisence introduced her to him. He greeted her and seemed to be looking her over, inspecting her. "My wife, Reminisence tells me you are interested in The Cult." he said in an authorative voice. All Mianna could do was nod, she was intrigued by the darkness that seemed to surround him. He asked a few questions of her and then turned to his wife and asked her if she thought Mianna would make a suitable Cultist. Lady Reminisence spoke highly of Mianna and informed Lord Smogg of Mianna's interest in the dark magics as well. This seemed to please Lord Smogg and he explained some of the things she was required to do as a member of The Cult. Mianna took this all in, listening to every word he spoke and speaking only when appropriate. He then told her to follow him. Mianna took a deep breath and followed Lord Smogg up stairs where he and Lady Reminisence sat down. She stood before them both and pledged her loyalty to both them and The Cult. Lord Smogg rose and led her to the stone and asked her to place her hand on it. Mianna did so and for a brief moment felt as if this was the same darkness that had called to her as a child. Now that these formalities were out of the way, Lord Smogg took his leave and Lady Reminisence helped her to get into proper dress and explained the rules and ranking system to her.
The following day, Mianna along with, Mistress Reminisence, as she was now required to address her, met with the owner of the house that Mistress Reminisence had spoken about. The owner had much buisness to attend to in another realm and was hoping to find a suitable owner for her house. The girl showed them around the home, and explained some of its history. The house had been in her family for a very long time and she wished to leave it with someone who would take as good of care of it as she had. Mianna told the girl, who's name was Cricket, that she would like to be the one to do such that. With that said, Cricket took a final look at her and said "Then so it shall be, I ask you one small favor though before I take my leave. Please, take these items and have them placed in the Charles Overblue Memorial so myself or my sister will not be forgotten in this realm." Mianna agreed and took the items from Cricket. Once the deed was signed, Cricket rode off to attend to other business before her journey. Mistress Reminisence opened a gate to her own home so Mianna could gather her things from there. Once everything was in place in Mianna's new house, Mistress Reminisence returned to the tower to attend to some Cult business and left Mianna to herself.
"So much has happened in these past few days," Mianna thought to herself as she looked around the garden of her new home. Smiling, she went inside, took a final tour of the house making sure it was secure for the night and crawled into bed. She was asleep as soon as she closed her eyes. |
