Tai Kwan Leap returned to his cell at the Garden and sat in his dojo for a long time trying to clear his mind of distractions.

The lady Noc had seemed very nice. It troubled him that the urks had not been friendly. He also was troubled by the fact that the lady Noc had seemed friendly with so many who did not seem friendly to him.

Tai found that he could not clear his mind of these thoughts and began to feel he was bringing dishonour to the dojo. He got up and went to his cell and put on his armor.

Tai had promised Lord Arlin to provide the young army with extra funds from hunting. Perhaps it was time to start earning his keep and keeping his promise.

He polished his armor and weapons until they shone. He washed and cleaned his Army of the Frontier badge with much pride and honour and redonned his new colours.

Then, he rode off to Dungeon Wrong. The Juka fought fiercely, but in the end fell to the frenzied swings of Tai's mace. In a short time he had made over 5000 gold coins.

However, his mind was no less troubled. Tai rode to the moongate and stepped through into Ilshenar near the Shrine of Compassion. He had no sooner stepped out of the moongate than he heard the roar of an Ancient Wyrm.

Tai stopped and looked up, and reined in his ostard.

"Honourable Wyrm, I am unable to give you fair sport today."

He then bowed from the saddle and backed away from the shrine with his head still bowed.

His spurs nudged the Ostard south past the ratmen and Gargoyle Pass. Tai continued south past the small arctic area. He knew where he wanted to go.

He spurred his mount and screamed his war cry "Boot to the head" as he entered the area of the Dread Spiders and imps.

His mace and katana rang out in the valley repeatedly. Tai screamed his battle cry until his throat was raw and hoarse. Fortunately, the imps often carried drinks.

This went on until Tai could no longer carry the gold he had found. The ground was covered with many crushed spiders and quite a few imps with the imprint of Tai's boot on their heads.

Tai sat in his saddle breathing a bit heavily. He opened his pack and pulled out some of the rations Lord Arlin had supplied to the Army.

"Hmn, bread and dried fish." Tai shrugged because he could remember times when that was considered a fantastic feast. He also knew that the drinks he had removed from the bodies of the imps would make any meal settle properly.

As he finished the last jug of cider, Tai realized his mind was clear of troubling thoughts once again.
