Evil has run freely throughout Sosaria and now we are here to end it. Wise and powerful mages gather to combine their efforts and collected wisdom to bring peace upon the lands. They offer safety and shelter to any who ask for it. They offer council to any seeking it. Should all means be blocked, they shall use the blade to smother out the flame of evil. Their sights will rest upon any guild they determine as evil and those that freely aid those whom are evil. Beyond that the guild will target all regions flooded by dark monsters deep within the known dungeons or anywhere they may roam to keep them at bay from the good and innocent.
So the basic idea for the guild is simple. There seem to be a lot of guilds that are evil but I couldnt not find one that was truely a good guild (all seem to be either evil or neutral). So with this I hope to restore some balance and bring more RP around. Obviously we will be fighting evil guilds. Beyond that we will do a lot of RPing with the community and tons of quests. It is my hope that this brings a kick to the nards of those evil guilds while everyone involved (including the evil guilds) have fun. Dungeon crawls will be based around quests and will be done with ONLY GM gear to make it more fun. We will be involved in any and all RP plots people wish us to be a part of. Eventually, we may even go to Fel to fight those blasted murderers running around freely. This is a new group so give us a little time to get really up and running.
There will be 2 sections in the guild, the Circle of Mages and the Vanguard (for warriors).
The Circle of Mages leads the guild and more specifically their Council comprised of 5 Archmages. Many races are allowed within the Circle to include human, elf, and gargoyle so long as they uphold the virtues and seeks to restore light upon the world and drive all forms of evil from it. A focus for the mages is the pursuit of knowledge, as such they will often venture to learn all they can. This knowledge will be collected and stored for all mages to access and learn. Right now the idea is to have the following 'ranks' from top to bottom: Archmage, Wizard, Apprenctice, and Student. Other titles to replace Wizard are alright if the person wants something else. Titles such as "Arcane Teacher" or "Historian" may pop up. Students will begin a long process to learn about magic and how to control it. From there they are given an apprenticeship with a Wizard.
The Vanguard is a collection of warriors sworn to follow the orders of the wise mages and uphold the virtues. They are an extension of the Circle to bring justice against evil and protection to all whom ask for it. They will stand upon the battlefield, venture into the darkest dungeon, and set to protect those who are unable to protect themselves, or do whatever else the Circle needs of them. Their ranks are Knight, Squire, Trainee. Other roles are also accepted and valued such as scouts, detectives, or any other so long as they follow the same rules.

Some clarification; the guild is to restore a balance to the realm. They are not taking over cities or anything like that. But they would fight for a city to liberate it from (pick an evil guild) and then give it back to the people/kingdom's control. I am going to focus mostly on the Tram cities that are part of the Kingdom according to UO lore (at least to start).
Also, the "Knight" is a working title, as they are essentially Paladins. The guild idea is new so much is a working progress and up to change as the RP happens.
Update: The Vanguard section will also have a militia comprised of people of Britain. Dull blades, mismatched armor, whatever suits you. This is to give some people the option to be more unique in their warriors rather than a uniformed knight/paladin |
