A few of you already know of my nightly raccoon ordeal, but for those of you that don't know...
Okay, back story: I live in the city, New Orleans. 2 raccoons lived in the tree in the front yard and we had fun watching them climb down at night. UNTIL.....The one I call Khan, whose like the size of a medium sized dog!!!!!...decided to start scaring me. Every night I go to smoke, there he is. He "acts" like he was just passing through, but now I know better. He lies in wait for me. To taunt me and scare me and just look adorable and mean. He's the ring leader of the band. He HATES me. And I bet that after I run inside all scared cause he approached me in an intimidating raccoon way, he probably laughs.
Well, NOW he has raised a freakin raccoon army! Tonight, I went outside to smoke a cigarette and to throw bread at this baby raccoon I saw hanging off of our roof and when I step back to get a good swing going...I see EIGHT! 8 racoons!! Eight!! On MY ROOF in a CITY!

If only my camera had flash!! *cries* Tomorrow Im asking my bf to show me how to work his camera...then I'll have PROOF. You won't have trouble spotting Khan, once I have that pic. He's the HUGE one. They are all sooooo cute and cuddly looking..even Khan. But Khan is evil! (thus why I call him Khan). He doesn't seem very afraid of humans and when I put my hands over my head and move them around to scare him away, he just copies me with his raccoon hands/feet. Then he walks towards me like he's going to eat me. The only thing he seems scared of is my cat. (a tiny skinny 7 yr old female with the personality of Freddie Kruger).

Raccoons are awesome and one of my favorite animals. Does he really imitate you when you wave your hands? That's frickin amazing. I say he deserves bread for that haha.

When I was a baby, my parents adopted 3 raccoon babies they found in our attic. The parents had died, so they were orphans. One of them used to sleep in my crib with me. They ate out of bowls with my father.

Raccoons just rock. If they were in game, I'd have a bonded one.

I was born and raised a country girl. City life is new to me but the odd thing of it is... I've seen MORE wild life (animals and ppl) than I ever did living in the boonies. LOL!

Cein, you can come and get them but take all 8. Would hate to break up their lil family thing they have going. Khan is agressive, yes, but he's just doing a good job being the daddy coon.

Cat, how can you NOT feed them? They are just sooooo cute!
