A one eyed, peg-winged parrot waddles into Thraxas' office with a message in a bottle strapped to it's beak.

To tha' salty Maritime dogs,

Ahoy. If'n Ye and yer press gang o' scallywags don' wan'ta dance the hempen jig,

Me'n me hearties shall be needin' full access to yer goods. O' course ye can always try fate and get a

taste of me ropes end. I assure ye, me and tha' boys can swashbuckle with tha best o' them. NO

PARLEY!. If'n ye don' respond, Tha' blades shall begin raidin' ye and yorn immediately and send ye tha'

black spot.

PS. enclosed is me Bosun's pinky finger, jus' ta show how serious we be.

Thraxas observed the awkward gait of the mono-winged courier and scarcely stifled laughter. "What is this you bring, my trundling feathered friend?" He took the note and read it. "Shaemus is it? Send this back to Shaemus if you will." He tied a small leather strap around the parrot's neck to which was affixed a toy boat. "Tell him I surrender the fleet to him. Now, be off with you," he ordered, giving the parrot a harmless nudge out the door.
