Imryrr sat on her bed tending to the last of several gashes across her body. She was not one to show pain, however she normally didn't seem quite so amused by it either, as she did currently. Her father had given her quite the thrashing in the pits, and it had never pleased her more.
His actions, his words, and the information he gave her when the dressing down was over had proven to her that not only had he not gone soft, but that his mind was stronger and more in control than she'd known him to be in the past. It would take more than force to deal with these Atalan. She had known that but didn't think he had realised it...until today. She didn't much care for what he had in mind because there were too many elements that were not in her knowledge on how to deal with. She had to put complete trust in him that he knew what was best. Complete faith. That came easily for her when the man she was to trust was Tarothin Armunn. Though she was always quick to grab onto any weakness she might see and exploit it, she respected him, idolized him, and wanted only two things in life. To live and die gloriously, and to make her father proud. She decided years ago, when she was a small child walking in his shadow, how she would go about doing that..one day she would surpass him. But apparently today was not that day, and she laughed to herself remembering how he put her in her place.
While she was still on the ground, bleeding, trying to catch her breath, he spoke loudly, his voice reverberating throughout the arena. "I AM HOUSE ARMUNN!" He had reminded her. House Armunn began with him. He ruled every aspect of it. He was a warrior. He would do things his way. Imryrr was to respect that and to respect him. She couldn't hide her pleased look as she watched the fire in his eyes. It had been long since she'd last seen it burn. Her own eyes were full of pride in him.
When he saw that she understood, his tone changed. She pulled herself up onto her feet to give him her undivided attention. He spoke of many things then. He briefly mentioned his own father. A subject never broached upon, until now. Though curious, she remained silent as he continued with a change in subject, a note of regret or disapointment beginning to line his voice. Daerauko, her older brother. He rarely spoke of him. She had always known it was her father's wish that Daer be his heir to carry on, but even before his death, Daerauko had chosen his own path away from the family, and at the time, away from the Dark Order. Daer had taken more after their mother's chaotic nature than their father's love of order. Before he left, she had had a more difficult time with her brother's decission than even Tarothin. It had meant her possition in the family shifted, but Imryrr could take little pleasure in it. She had been close to him growing up, but had felt somehow he betrayed them all. The mentioning of his name from her father brought up mixed emotions. On the surface, however, she was stoic and continued to stand at attention.
He looked at her and his tone changed even more. It became quieter and tender. This unnerved her and it suddenly seemed as though her heart pounded heavily. Tarothin reached out and placed his hand upon his daughters shoulder. It was too...awkward, this gesture of his. This moment in time. "Father I...."
"My daughter, make me proud." _________________ = Imryrr Armunn =
