Senjin limped inside the keep, her clothing was charred, blood drizzled down her chin. A slave ran forward to help her, she shoved them away. Graeve stood watching her, making no move his red eyes piercing.

Get out! She yelled angrily, slaves scurried out of the room. Graeve still made no move watching her.

Only when the slaves had left her presence, did Senjin succumb to her wounds. Falling to her knees. Moving her hand a dark red gash was revealed in her midsection.

I could kill you now Senjin, you know that every part of me wants to. He spoke in a calm familiar voice, almost gentle. She nodded and cracked a smile. I know Graeve, but I would still put up a pretty good fight. She could swear she heard the horse chuckle.

It is your spirit Senjin that stays me, I know you have it in you. I know you won't stop fighting till the last breath leaves your body. You were born of battle and you will die of it. This is the quality I like in you most.

She coughed up blood when she tried to answer, and at this the horse let out a loud roar, It shook the walls of the room, things crashed to the floor, slaves wailed in the background. This fury, his fury, washed over her, as Graeve's strength filled her, the wounds that covered her began to heal. She could see the days long ago, the betrayal, the bloodshed. Revenge filled her drove her, became her guide. No kindly, gentle healing spell would touch her, only the Dark Equine's hatred, anger and strength.

I live to learn a lesson, to grow stronger. The Bloodroot and the others can be vicious, we do not coddle our own. However, the fact that I survived their onslaught is a marker in itself. So I will take this and turn it to triumph. It shall fuel me, and strengthen me.

Graeve nodded stepping forward she wrapped her arms around his massive neck and he bent his head to her, his eyes gleaming, she stared him back directly in his eyes. This pleased him greatly,Come Senjin the time is upon us... you have a letter to write.
