What a wonderful day it had been spent with the beautiful Cat Lyxen. They had walked hand in hand through the northern forests to the waterfall, and stood on the bridge watching the water crash down. Next the couple had set up a small picnic under the cherry trees chosing not to say a word, but rather gaze into one another's eyes while feeding eachother a variety of fruits. Striker had laughed until his stomach ached, and smiled so much his cheeks hurt.
Now the two stood in front of Cat's door once again. Striker could feel his heart racing as she stood with a slight smirk on her face awaiting for him to decide the next move. Hundreds of thoughts ran in his mind. "Do I say my goodbyes? Do I try to kiss her? What is that odd clicking sound in the distance?"..Striker turned slightly, looking in the direction of the town of Yew. "Why am I worried about an odd sound right now!?", he pondered turning his attention back to Cat.
"I'm sorry my lady..I." Cat stopped Striker in mid-sentence with a touch of one finger to his lips. "I told you before, call me Cat." The mage smiled down at her taking note of the moonlight glistening in her feline eyes. "I'm sorry my..I mean.." Cat burst into laughter. "Striker, would you stop apologizing and just kiss me!" The bluntness of her words caught him offguard, and Striker felt his face turn red with heat. Lyxen shook her head, and giggled. "Fine MY LORD," she said with a huff, "I see a woman must always do the hard work." With inhuman speed she grabbed his robes, and pulled Striker close to her. As their lips met he savored every small detail. The warm, softness of her lips cuppled with a slighty rough, wet feeling of her tongue sent jolts through his body. He had been awaiting this moment, and finally it had arrived.
They stood wrapped in eachother's arms, trying to pull the other closer. Strikers senses picked up something odd held within the wind suddenly, and he felt Cat tense up as her nose flarred like she had picked up a scent.
The clicking sounds from earlier returned only this time much closer, and all around the couple. "Tsk, tsk my little Cat. You are being very naughty." an unseen voice was heard saying, "Did he offer you another batch of cookies if you allowed him into your bed?" it said cynically. "Watch your tone when speaking to her!" Striker replied enraged, turning to face the darkness. "And do not tell me how to speak to the wench, little welp!," the voice retorted, "I'll do, and say as I please and one as pathetic as you can not stop me!"
Striker's blood began to boil, and he started chanting words to call up a spell. "Striker no!" Cat screamed grasping his arm tightly, and breaking his concentration. "You dona understand what you are dealing with," she interjected, "Please, please dona do anything rash. I canna see your get hurt."
The voice laughed loudly, "That's right welp, listen to her. She doesn't want to see you get hurt.""Enough!" Cat yelled, "Whatta you want?" "Why merely to continue our contract my sweet little kitty. We have need to recover another artifact." the voice replied. "No, I will not help you anymore. Especially, afta what you've done to Bree!" Silence filled the air for what seemed an eternity. "You are refusing to uphold your end of the contract you willingly signed?" the voice asked angerly. "That's whata said." Cat said with a sneer across her face. "Very well, then you shall pay to consequences!"
Arrows shot out from the darkness striking Cat in the chest, and she fell to the ground. "Cat!" Striker cried out, kneeling down and raising Cat slightly off the ground. Blood began to pour from her mouth, and Cat coughed trying to take in a breath of air. "No! Please! This can't be happening!" he sobbed. "Striker, I'm so sorry." Cat said painfully, reaching up to rub his face. "So, so, sorry...." her eyes began to fade, and her hand fell away from his face. " Cat... Cat!!" Tears streamed from Striker's face, and he grasped Cat tightly. "You will pay for this..." Striker said wrathfully to the darkness, "Do you hear me!! You will pay!"
The explosion jarred Striker awake, and he rolled out of his bed as the ceiling crashed down where he once lay asleep. The wood was red from heat, and Striker's hands burned from the force of the spell he'd unknowningly cast. He was covered in sweat from head, to toe and his body trembled. He instinctively looked around for Cat's body on the ground, although she was miles away at her own home. "It was all just a nightmare Striker, " he said to himself, "Just a nightmare.." |
