Ditto read the parchment a second time, sadly. A bit of pink reached her normally violet moodlet eyes, marking her the worry that was within. As she sat on the oversized bed in the hunting lodge of Armunn Isle, she wondered at the reason that delayed Tarothin's own arrival here. His short letter didn't say. Glancing back down at the letter a third time, she wanted to admonish her husband's curtness when it came to putting pen to parchment. She couldn't even really call it a letter. A simple note really, stating that his arrival would be delayed a day.

But a day in Sosaria, or a day here, in the Young Kingdoms? The two were very different. Though the winds of time between realms could never be predicted with any clear form of accuracy, what she did know was that a day in Sosaria could be weeks, even months here. Just one day's delay could cause him to miss his child's birth! And whats more, he was to bring Galnor with him. Lord Galnor Bloodmoon had agreed to journey with Tarothin to the Young Kingdoms in order to oversee the delivery of the new Armunn. Without Tarothin or Galnor, here, Ditto decided that she'd refuse to go into labor whenever the time came. She'd had such difficulty giving birth to both Imryrr and Bree that she didn't want to be here, so far away, alone. The danger to her life didn't bother her as much as just the thought of being alone did.
Cloudst..Tarothin said he would be here for the birthing, she told herself. He will be.

Resting her head back against the hard, handcarved wooden headboard, she thought back to a few months ago..maybe just a day or two for her friends in Sosaria. She'd given herself a going away party with Enoch and a couple of men from Moonglow, in order to get rid of the evidence of the stolen booze...evidence she made sure had been disposed of by Ralph and Feyd, while she and Enoch drank their own favored brands of wine. She couldn't leave Cat and Aulbrey holding the bag in case Constable Ralph wanted to make an issue of the crime in her absence...since it was her idea in the first place to steal the booze from Moonglow.

Pretending a drunken state yet again, had Ditto left the Lush House that night to spend her last few hours before her voyage with Tarothin. Creeping into the darkness of her bedchamber..a candle lit near her side of the bed caused her to smile. Only Tarothin would have known to do that. He knew her clumsiness only too well, and must've remembered how that clumsiness reached new heights when she was with child.
Shrugging off the few clothes she wore, she tiptoed quietly as she could to Tarothin's side of the bed and gazed down at his strong, chiseled face. His handsome, human face. Women didn't usually look upon his rugged, battle worn features and think of the word..cute. Handsome, intimidating, sexy, yes ..but the word cute wasn't the norm. Except for Ditto. The word cute to her meant more than it did for most. She reserved the use of that word for only the highest form of praise. And to her, Tarothin was 'oh so very cute'.
She'd come here, by his side, to poke him and take yet another stance against being sent off away from him for her own safety until after the baby's birth. But....She glanced again at the lit candle, then back down at his face. She just couldn't be mad at him, and in that moment, she knew she gave in. She would go willingly now to the Young Kingdoms. No more pointless arguments. No tricks. No schemes. She would go.
Instead of cursing his undeniable cuteness, Ditto instead simply leaned her head down close to him to whisper softly and lovingly..
"I surrender to you, ja'ra'auc."
As Ditto was about to place a kiss on his forehead, Tarothin's arm reached out quickly to pull her down on top of him, a short, deep chuckle came from him. Her back to his chest, he wrapped his arms around her waist.
~

Her happy reminiscings were interrupted by a sudden pain in her lower back and stomach....The early pains of labor. She knew them well.

Those days inbetween days went on...weeks into months..then two years.
Stelios Armunn, only living son of Tarothin and Ditto Armunn had been born into the world of the Young Kingdoms. His first trip to his home in, Sosaria, was brief but full of excitement for the toddler. After this trip Ditto and Stelios returned to the serenity and safety of the Armunn hunting lodge in the Young Kingdoms.
Ditto's last moments with her husband before embarking had been filled with the violence of the arena events, and ending with an argument with him. One that he won by having her physically removed from the building and placed on the ship for home with Stelios.
The Dark Order invasion would begin soon. Tarothin was needed in Sosaria for now. But once things settled, she and Stelios would return again....to stay.
Time went by for Ditto and Stelios and their household of servants and guards. She kept track of the time difference through letters marking the dates with Juju, the Armunn housekeeper in Keep Armunn on Caina. Each one would write a short notice to each other daily. The lady Armunn tried to find a pattern between the time difference, but there just didn't seem to be one. It was erratic.
The only constant was that time went by faster here than in Sosaria.

At last, Tarothin was there with them...the invasion of Minoc had been a success, yet he still seemed restless. There was more to do still in Sosaria, their home, but he'd take time with his son and Ditto here in the Young Kingdoms for a while. Stelios needed guidance. As much as Tarothin loved his wife, he knew she would not be able to, or even try to raise Stelios with the values that he, himself followed. He wanted a worthy namesake and he'd do all he could to ensure he got it.
