The rain had been relentless impeding the progress of an aimless journey. The crimson shroud she wore clung to her as a result. Though the destination was unclear, the journey was necessary. Laenra pulled back her hood and turned her face skyward. The rain constantly pelted at her skin. The frigid temperature made each drop that fell from the heavens feel as if it were daggers across her cheeks. Agony ensued with each splash of rain.

The pain was familiar, she closed her eyes to remember. No sooner had she closed her eyes did the vision start, visions of a life long ago, of a time she wished to come to know and remember. The rain slashed her white skin deeper, she could see the lacerations in her mind's eye. Her hand went to her face and came away with blood, instead of the water that fell from the sky. Anger flared up through her.

War raged with in her, sounds of battle rang through her ears. Fire and destruction laid before her now open eyes. Smoke and blood filled her nose.

No more of our blood will be spilled this night.

Home....she had found her place.

Her eyes focused on targets...Others clad just as she...kin... rushed about her. There was a familiarity and unity within all, yet she was certain she'd never laid eyes upon their faces before. The heat of battle surrounded them all, working together as a single unit, knowing their thoughts without speaking a single command aloud.

Target one...strike,

Her body moved as if she'd done this a multitude of times. The victim fell dead, his mouth forever stuck in a soundless scream as flames engulfed him, hellfire consuming and satiating its hunger upon this fallen.

Target two...
The soldier fell much like the first

Target three...disconnect...silence..No name had been called, there was nothing..

Ire conquered her emotions as she set the rider rushing towards her on fire.

Lost...must survive...kill all in your path....
Too late was her strike, an explosion sent tiny pieces of odds and ends into her flesh.

Pain...
Laenra opened her red eyes. The blood on her hands had vanished much like the vision but the pain remained.

It started as thorny brambles contorting under her skin, trying to pierce her from the inside out. Then her own blood felt as if it were lava, coursing through her body. She knew the pain to be more, it was a calling, but how she couldn't say. It called her forth, beckoning. Laenra fought to keep her focus, refusing to succumb to the agony.

The crackling sound of fire caught her attention. The tree to the right had gone up in flames when she aimed the last spell from the dream. The heat warmed her frozen face. The hot tongues of the fire painted the black tree with hues of orange and red and smoke billowed from the leaves. Off in the distance, a form, more more than a shadow began to taunt her vision, pretending to be a trick of light from the fire before her, yet it still closed in. The illusion mimicked that from her memory and directly at her.

North...must ride North...
She jumped onto her horse and began to charge through the forest. Hoof falls behind her..chasing.

I am a hunter, I'll be damned if I run like prey..

Laenra suddenly diverted, straying slightly off her intended course, digging her heals harder into her steed demanding more speed. She tried to head off her pursuer.
Left....Right....East....South...JUMP!
Her movements were flawless as if she had planned this route the entire time. She leapt from her horse into the branches of a great oak and waited. the galloping was a ways off. Putting herself into position, Laenra concentrated on her mark and readied an attack

Thirty feet....twenty feet.... ten feet...
Just then she dropped from the tree directly in front of her would be chaser, her own horse had rounded them up from the opposite side, causing them to halt their horses momentum. She stared at the one before her, taking a battle stance, ready for a fight.

The rider took up no weapon but merely smirked.

"We've been expecting you."
