Korin awoke there was a pebble or small stone in the small of his back. Trying to adjust his body, her presence was made clear to him. She lay snuggled against him her head buried against the side of his chest. Her leg draped over his, her foot tangled around his ankle.
This night had not been a dream. Korin raised his head and looked into her face. She had always seemed familar to him in her appearance and now he understood why. The hair was different and so were the eyes.
Korin gently rolled onto his side, she smiled as she snuggled back into him and placed her hand against his chest. Even through his armor Korin could feel the warmpth of her touch. He had ran a gambit of emotions this night. And for one who worked so hard to surpress his emotions the flood that had been released had exshausted him. Angry, confused, hurt, sadness, guilt, joy and love where things Korin tried not to let through but this night she had seen them all.
Korin kissed her forehead and looked down into her face. As the candles burned low he closed his eyes. Feeling her love and warmth against him. As the moment where sleep was about to reclaim him once more Korin heard a great sheet of ice topple and shatter, and felt the warmth of her hand reaching down into his heart. |
