The pigeon sits patiently on the theatre's stable fence until someone finds him and takes he letter from his leg.

Dear Rosar,

Apology is neither deep enough, nor broad enough, to carry that which I have within me to pour out.

I once destroyed my mother’s rose garden. Did I ever tell you?

I have been at an utter loss as to how to proceed. Or whether, indeed, to proceed at all. How does one find her path when it has led her to a precipice and disappeared behind her?

My thoughts scatter. Words fail me. Just, please, know my mind.

Ever,
Aurelia

A reply arrives via pigeon at Moonglow very late in the evening.

Dear Aurelia

Acknowledging one's wrongs is one step; apology is another. Neither are enough, it is true, but without them, nothing ever will be.

Regret is not your enemy, Aurelia. If we allow it to serve its true purpose, it is a mentor, a guardian—like a parent—guiding us down the path that, in time, we will know to be the correct one, even if we cannot now see the sense of our actions. And, as with a parent, we come to outgrow our regret, and we will not only know the path, but shall come to know the purpose of traveling it. If you do not make the mistake of letting your regret paralyze you, then, with time, you will find your redemption.

There is pain in your future, Aurelia. A part of you has died; it festers, now, and must delicately be excised, in order to make way for new growth. The healing shall be slow, and the confusion that you feel now will persist until you have learned your purpose. The path ahead of you will not be an easy one. To succeed, you must abandon hope for your mortal life and look instead to the well-being of your heart and soul. There is hope, Aurelia—always—as long as we are willing to pay the price. And what price is too high for true atonement?

The first step is to look outward. Set aside the grief that has debilitated you, and look to the hearts of those others who now suffer. I cannot tell you how precisely to proceed; you must make that determination. Think upon this, Aurelia—it does not matter for how long, so long as it is earnest meditation.

If you wish to arrange a meeting, you need only make that request.

I shall await further word from you.

Yours,
Rosar
