A very large, but obviously tamed, Frost Spider, drops a sealed, brass tube at the town sign of Stonegate. It is picked up by a wolf and taken to the lodge of the Wolf King. Inside the tube is a letter which reads:
Greetings Your Majesty, King Myrddin,
I am Dharzhal T'Ar, the Black Prince. I am drow, but do not be put off by it, for contrary to common human thought, we are not all entirely bereft of decency and honor. I was a paladin once... High Priest even... to a benign druidic goddess. I will not relate my fall from that exalted position. I only mention it to reinforce the validity of what I am about to tell you, in support of the request I wish to make of you.
In my travels in Trammel, escorting wayfarers to their desired destinations, I came across a most disturbing philosophy in New Magincia. There is a man named Isk who propounds an horrendous doctrine which evidently has poisoned the minds of many living there, and perhaps those abroad. Although I am not without my own prejudices, none extend to the degree of hate and animosity that do his. I find the doctrine both repugnant and vile. I am committed to reducing its effect in the lands by whatever means necessary. I have already left writings in New Magincia as a start. I am certain he has seen them.
I have heard, at long last, that you oversee a group of individuals who have also taken issue with him in the past, and have been reasonably triumphant. I am impressed by this. I am therefore requesting a meeting with you at your earliest opportunity to discuss what we may do together to squash this madness before it further infects our lands, or damages our standing with the masses of humans who dwell all around us. I shall gladly put myself at your disposal to accomplish that, but so we may find common ground, a meeting is in order. Would you be willing to meet and talk to me? I shall gladly leave the place and time solely up to you. I shall come alone, save for perhaps my pet, which is quite docile. You are welcome to invite any or all of your followers.
I await your reply eagerly. The arachnidae which delivered this letter to your minions, is waiting to take your reply back to me.
I wish you good fortune and strength (as I understand that is what you admire most),
Your Ally,
Dharzhal T'Ar" |

Some time later, a wolf returns with a message for the beast.
Black Prince,
Though the matter you wish to discuss concerns a people who frown upon race, The Kingdom of Stonegate is a much more diverse group of people. I have had several interactions with the drow people in my life time, both good and bad, and I'll say that I know enough to know that I'll reserve judgement until we've spoken.
As for the topic at hand, your information is very much accurate.
I am willing to meet and would welcome further discussion in person.
If you have time tomorrow eve that would be ideal.
I will send another letter with a location shortly.
In strength,
-Myrddin ab'Arawn
