"But I don't want to wear dresses!" Jocelyn exclaimed. "I don't want to learn how to be a lady!"

William smirked for a moment at the absurdity of the young girl's statement.

"I went to the same classes to learn to be a gentleman"

"But I wanna play with Ruby Claw" She said as she pointed to her bow in the chair next to her.

"Lets make a deal, Archery lessons in exchange for Etiquette lessons" He bargained as she signed into her plate.

"I'm gonna look dumb in a dress, you'll see"

"That's enough. You will need these lessons, just as much as you need the lessons with Ruby Claw. There is more to them than putting on dresses. You will loose yourself without them. These lessons are very important in your development. Though you may not see it now, you will know when the time is right."

Jocelyn opened her mouth to protest, but did not get the chance to make a sound.

"Alight, clear your plate and go to your room" The child dropped her head low, having disappointed him. Slowly she got up from the table, abandoning her plate and spoke softly.
"Alright Bear, good night" Even though she knew she had been over ruled there was still a bit of resolve in her voice. She didn't care about the right way to walk, she didn't want to wear a dress and she certainly thought silverware placement was ridiculous. Jocelyn wanted to be granted with the gift, but she didn't see how these lessons would prove useful. When she approached her room, an Epiphany struck the young child's mind.

I can't be made to wear a dress, if I don't have any to wear!

Quickly the child pulled out all her clothing and set to work. She shredded anything resembling a dress. Tattered ribbons were strewn across every inch of the floor when she was done. She smiled and beamed as she gazed upon her work.

Like I said, I didn't want to wear a dress. She thought as she climbed into bed and went to sleep.
