Isk stood on the docks as the last of the ships sailed from Magincia.
“The people need this” he stated as Joanna approached him from behind, her flowery scent in the air. Long has the Magnate worked on this instrument of propaganda and now with the aid of a dedicated printing press the distinct thoughts and the voice of humanity will spread to the homes of all in the realm on a seasonal basis.
“The timing is perfect. The people need something to read through the summer.” Joanna said as she laid a hand on the shoulder of her father in law. “It will be well received” she added with a curl of her lip.
“I have stood on these docks watching the Humanis Voice sail off many times, but this is the first time they leave from a New Magincia.” Isk commented as he sheltered his eyes with a hand from the rising sun.
“The city is as new as its audience. It has been many years since the last copy of the paper.” The Administrator said as she pressed her side to him, watching the last of the ships sink past the bright horizon. “It will be well received.”
“They always are” Isk grinned beneath his emotionless mask as the rays of sun draped the porcelain in a sheet of gold. “The kids love the cards. Get them while they’re young.”

The oracle closed his copy of the paper and stroked his beard, deep in thought, allowing a thin smile to creep across his lips. "As always, a compelling read." He snapped his fingers and his major-domo stepped from the alcove. "Have this plaed in the Nujel'm documents archive."

"Master?"

Dealthagar's eyes narrowed. "Magincia is our ally and Isk is our friend. Whether or not we agree with his philosophies, an archive of such things is key to understanding his people."

The gargoyle took the paper and folded it gently. "Yes, my lord."

"If you wish, I could have Joanna autograph one of her new cards for you."

Instinctively, the gargoyle's hand defensively covered his hip pouch. "T-t-that is unnecessary, master. My affections f-f-for her are...cured."

"Of course they are." With a flick of the wrist, he dismissed Sularis and returned to his iced tea.
