Footprints marked the journey passed. Blanketed, untouched snow laid before them, bound by her word of honor they made their way forward. The lands were just as empty as the day she left, though the power still thrummed through the air. Energies that she didn't fully understand brushed across her skin with every gust of wind. One could almost smell it apart from the frigid temperatures, subtle yet distinctly there. Once such a recognized place, now lay forgotten.
The child, bound in her warmest garments yet trudged along most unhappily.

"Don't worry little one, you will not be here longer than necessary"

So much has been lost for you already, your mother, though given who she was that works well to your benefit, your father and your sister. Willow thought to herself. Yet it was encouraging still to see her continue on.

All at once, she disappeared from sight. The ground seemed to swallow her whole. Willow ran to the child and burst out laughing at the sight of her. She had fallen into a snow drift, but in her displeasure with the cold, her temper flared and thus her temperature as well causing the snow to melt. Jocelyn narrowed her eyes at Willow, who had been laughing so hard tears had fallen from her eyes.

"Up" The child demanded. Still laughing, Willow lifted her from her now personal pool and set her on the ground beside her. A weight had been lifted as she continued with the child right beside her. In that moment, all was as it should have been. There was an ease in acceptance. Willow kept on laughing as Jocelyn made her way through the snow, leaving trails of tiny ponds with every step.

Time to put aside these childish things...

Thoryne stared down at the green bear...its head, lopping to one side. The house was dark and quiet. Just as she liked it. In a moment she would go to her special hiding spot and shut away the world.

She had still not adapted fully. She still felt the dark tendrils of despair breathing down her neck. She still saw the eyes staring up from thier silent grave, the present wrapping strewn about.

She paused holding her bear above a wooden crate, countless other toys thrown carelessly aside.

She had his chin, they often said...

No, no Jelly bear... not you... She pulled him back and packed him in her satchel. Life was to filled with uncertainty and sadness for her, this one token of childhood she couldnt bare to lose.

A silent tear slipped down her cheek and she turned leaving the quiet room, in one hand a sharpened stick in the other....a mallet.

What curious things shall we do today? She smiled darkly to herself...

Alice: But I don't want to go among mad people.
The Cat: Oh, you can't help that. We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.
Alice: How do you know I'm mad?
The Cat: You must be. Or you wouldn't have come here.
