It is with deep regret and sadness that I must inform you, due to certain events that have transpired within the Empire, that I will be unable to fulfill my duties concerning the upcoming visit of Lady Hemko; Heir to the Throne of Tokuno.

I am certain the Empire will appoint a suitable replacement to continue in my absence. It has been decided that I am to take this opportunity to travel and educate myself on the traditions and customs of the various nations of this world. Perhaps, one day, when this current storm has passed, I will have your permission to visit your city, not as a diplomat, but as a friend.

Should you wish to reply to this message, please feel free to use this bird. I ask but one small favor in this regard. Please allow her a weeks rest before sending her on her way.
