I guess Role Play is in the eyes of the beholder. I was sitting in the Tea House with members of the Blue Lotus, Army of Iron Lotus and My fellow Guild members from TDF.

A chicken walked in and was talking not in common but in chicken. I watched it enter; no one said anything to me. So using past experience when dealing with animals, I role played. I stated “Look dinner” the chicken continued to cluck and move around the Inn, I then stood and emoted *takes out his bow* the chicken then headed for the door. As he did I followed it out at a walking pace, as it ran into town I fired 3 times, striking the chicken twice. When I saw the chicken recalling I held my fire, I did not use any specials to stop him from leaving or prevent him from getting away.
I returned to the Inn and explained that the chicken flew away and that it was probably to tuff to eat anyways.

A few minutes later Emmink (BLT) showed up and asked if we were having a private guild meeting? We said no and invited him to join use. Instead He was angered that I had attacked his chicken and had brought it down to half-life. I told him that the attack was not meant to offend, and was within ROE and that I was sorry if he was offended by my actions. He said a few more things and departed.

I then had a conversation with those from BL, AoIl and TDF about what happen. I felt it was best that I do a post explaining what happen and that it was not done with malice towards that player or his guild. It was simply a chicken.
If a player would have walked in as a human, elf, drow, vampire, or any other being that we are used to seeing on the street, my actions would have been different. Because we don’t shoot people on site. There is a protocol for that.
Again I’m sorry if there was a misunderstanding, I was not trying to start a guild war, offend any players or upset anyone, I was just role playing.

Personally... Ill say well done lol. Just next time might want to hold off on ACTUALLY shooting it lol.

I have done the same in the past. On catskills, my knights were in a big war with the Juka (NPC juka)... and one day a person RPing a juka walked into the tavern. Well we flipped out, tossing over tables and made a barricade. Then proceeded to try and "emote fight" the person. Pretty much everyone in there was like, "wtf.." but we were simply RPing our characters.

But, I dont see this as a big issue personally. Mistakes happen.. and you didnt kill and loot some uber rare.

I say, if someone walks in as a chicken (or any other possible foods) they are free game. You did your bit and RP'd first. I say good on you.

I've attacked people for not leaving a chair they were not supposed to be sitting in. Its all cool as long as there is RP before hand.
Sometimes I miss the days of axes flying to the heads of those that did not respect that if you are not in the Regency you sit on a gdamn bench away from the table.

Yea shooting chickens is legit.
