Many of you know last night a large earthquake and Tsunami's hit Japan last night. My heart goes out to the people who are caught in that.

Often times I think of it as worlds away from us here in california, but being put on Tsunami watch here in California last night hit home with me, just how close we all really are.

I hope for the best for these people that have been caught up in this. While our Tsunami warnings in Honolulu and the watch on the pacific coast ended up thankfully not being an issue. I still feel greatly saddened for those in Japan suffering and truly wish there was something I could do.

They like us live with earthquakes as a regular part of thier lives and the fact that a large one hit them makes me cringe inside.

So I hope no one here has had loved ones suffereing from this. Japan will be in my thoughts and well wishes.

This was truly a tragedy. We had a scare here in Oregon as well. You never know what mother nature will do.

We're still waiting word from my old college room mate and friend in Yokota, they were hit by a 5.0+ after shock.

I am not a man of god, but my prayers and hopes go out to Cecil who currently resides in Japan. I hope you're doing alright, Im gonna be checking for you on ICQ.

I actually talk to cecil a few times a week on ICQ - have not heard from him since the 9th. From the last time I talked to him about where he is at, he is coastal in rural japan Sad

Will post when I hear from him.

I heard from Cecil the day of the quake, he was fine. Hoping to hear from him now that the tsunami watch is over.

Cecil is entirely alright, his apartment was on very high ground and he has water, gas and electricity but no internet yet. I haven't spoken to him personally, but a family member posted on his Facebook. We should hear from him soon.
