The Llothian preistess had been feeling a strong presence of the goddess for the last several weeks. "Has she returned", she thought to herself. She knew that if it were in fact true, the Matron may not pleased with the turn of events that have transpired in her absence. She had assisted the followers of the masked lord on several occasions. "It was a deception, to keep tabs on their activities", she said aloud hoping for understanding from the Spider Queen. Her favor with the goddess had been noticeably fading, her clerical spells had been harder to summon. No sacrifices had been made since the Matron disappeared into the abysmal plane.

Her attention shifted to the female drow that she had been holding captive for months. She had witnessed this female providing companionship to her former patron, and could not bear seeing him content without her, so she captured the female and tortured her often. They searched for her at first, the preistess even joined them in their search to ensure they did not find her. It was assumed she was lost. "She would make an excellent sacrifice, if the Matron has truely returned", she said to herself. The look of fear evident on the hostages face. "You better pray to your Masked Lord she has not", she said to the captive drow, "a wayward drow is the goddess' favorite gift.

It did not take long to verify that the Matron had indeed returned. After severe reprimands and confinement to the temple until Lloth had returned her favor, the sacrifice of the captive female would be arranged.

Kal'iksix stood behind Zararra as she begged and prayed to the Goddess for forgiveness. Many times the thought ran through her mind to dispose of her as she had done to her sister so many centuries ago. "Slit her throat," was one thought, "drain her like Ian would drain a victim," was another thought. Kal'iksix shook her head and focused on the praying female.

A sacrifice was needed indeed. Oh how Kal'iksix wished for it to be either her former patron or her traitorous daughter. "She has been brainwashed, I tried to re-direct her back to the Goddess," where the words from Zararra that rang in Kal'iksix memory. If she truly was to be a Llothian priestess, no amount of training would be able to penetrate the Goddess' favor of one of her priestesses.

"Perhaps it will lure the former patron and your daughter into the open," Zararra spoke to Kal'iksix, returning her from her thoughts.

"Full forgiveness would be bestowed on you if THEY were the sacrifice."

Zararra explained that she had a perfect replacement, a wayward drow who had been the mistress of Zararra's patron, Orgollree'rean. She also explained how he thought himself important and made chancellor. The thought of her former arch mage being such caused Kal'iksix to laugh.

"You will remain her until the Goddess deems you worthy of her favor." Kal'iksix spoke to the female. "Of course it will pale to what you will be put through to gain my trust and forgivness," Kal'iksix thought.

Kal'iksix exited the drider pit, leaving the returning priestess to her prayers.

"Yes I know, Mother, she reeks of the Masked One's influence." Kal'iksix spoke to her Mother.
