A note attached to the foot of the raven reads:

Dearest Damian,

The Atalan have inhabited Kaane for months now. We walk these streets and train amongst its people. We guard it as if it is our own. It IS our own. You have mentioned peacefully handing over the rights to the land you call Trinsic, but you are no where to be found. I have waited patiently for your return...but alas you remain hidden. The time has come for you to give us the title to what is ours. I expect to hear from you by the eve of next Monday at 10pm by the eastern stars. If we do not...then I will be forced to bring bloodshed to the streets you claim to hold dear.

After steping back on to the soft lands again after a long trip a bird flys to the boat and lands on the deck.

Hmm what do we have here my firend a message. after reading the message i sigh when will people learn that fighting is never the way of life. goes to the cargo hold and grabs a pen a paper and wrights...

to the blood thursty people that you are you will have to wait for i have many things to get back into order for i have just come back from a very long a tireing trip but i will send word when i regain my strength.

Damian,

What ruler disappears for weeks when their city is in danger? I grow weary of these games and find it quite humorous that you actually believe I care about how prepared you are. Kaane will fall to the Atalan...and it WILL happen soon. It is only because my men pity you that you will have one more week to prepare yourself. If your clan has any pride left...leave your alleged allies out of this - this is now personal. See you soon.
