It had been more than 3 years since he last laid eyes on the beauty and wonder that was Sosaria. As he wandered in his solitude, he often thought of the friends he left behind suddenly, without so much as a fare the well. He had been on a sabbatical, to find out who he truly was, his true identity. Since he was a young, he often thought why he was so much different from the parents he came to knew. He was raised in an environment of strict guidelines, of patience, of honor. He studied the ways of the Samurai since he could remember, but something inside of him told him that there was more to his heritage, more than his adoptive parents could have ever told him.
When he was old enough, he left the island of Makato-Jima, the place he called home for so many years. He learned of many different cultures and met new people along the way. It was not until he ventured into the land Malas and came upon the city of Umbra, that he learned more about himself than he had in all of his years growing up on the secluded island he only knew as home. He could feel something inside tugging at him, something fueling him, but he did not quite know what it was.
He was at a turning point in his life, and the one who set him upon the path was Ceinwyn, who was the Matriarch of Umbra. He began to grow more in power as he hunted, studied, and became part of this group. His rage and anger fueled his power, and it was a new-found and liberating feeling for him. Instead of holding his anger and aggressiveness in check, he let it guide him in the hunts and battles, and he became the person who he now is today.
In his time in Umbra, there were others who looked as he did, though some were different in their own ways. One day, on his path back to his dwelling, he stumbled upon the most beautiful creature his eyes had ever seen. She looked as he did, though she was very petite and oozed of power and of aggressiveness. She began talking to him in a language that he did not understand, yet, it seemed familiar to him. She then began to talk and told him of who he was, and where he truly came from.
He did not understand why she looked upon him with such disdain, because before now, he never crossed paths with her before. She hastily explained to him that where they are truly from, the males of their species are servants and mere slaves, and the women hold the true power. He could not believe what he was hearing, but yet, he had to know, he had to see with his own eyes. As quickly as she was there, she had disappeared, it left him with many unanswered questions, with him wanting more knowledge and truly seeing what the place was about, this...this Underdark.....
Now...his questions answered, his quest over, it is time for him to return to the land he left so suddenly, so abruptly...to find old friends...to face new challenges, and see for himself, this rumored superior race of gargoyles that have emerged from a lost land thought buried forever, until just recently. As he prepares to return, he wonders what will await him, what and where will fate bring him this time....and when he is upon the lands of Sosaria again..he will be ready..... |
