She had arrived early. Considering Meegan ran on her own timetable that was an unheard of occurrence. But there she was. In time to watch the setup and placement of booths. Smiling at Joanna, she made a couple of passes up and down the twin bridges before stopping to harass Daelric. In the middle of small talk she studied his iron mask. It was a curiosity. Isk wore his by choice. She didn't think Daelric had that option. And in truth really hadn't taken time to ask. She was about to do just that when Cuthbert tried paging Ari. Knowing the woman had her hands full Meegan sucked it up and strode over to see what the blustering General wanted.

Toe to toe they stood. It seemed to be common place. Both strong willed, both pushy and both complete opposites.

"Did you want to stand here Meegan?" She wasn't sure if he was sick of the standoff or if he thought he would actually win with that line, but she answered.

"I had planned on helping."

He nodded once and went about his business. It was probably for the best. too much time face to face was bound to get them both into trouble.

A the night began its swing into full blown shopping madness a new task was handed to her. Grab the Four year old, Addie, from the Youth Hostel in Vesper and escort him around. Meegan stopped in her tracks. What in pumpkinfish's name was she going to do with a four year old? Shaking her head she grabbed Joanna's rune and gated in.

Politely she greeted the boy, who was awash in smiles and excitement.

"I'll take good care of him." Christa regarded Meegan with a raised brow. Meegan got the impression the innkeeper really didn't believe that but quietly entrusted the boy into her care anyway. Two gates later Meegan and Addie arrived at the North end of the Bazaar.

"Welcome to Magincia!" Nathalas's voice rang clear and true as greeted them, smiling first to Addie and then to Meegan who just 20 minutes earlier had been standing beside him.

"Addie, we need to find you some candy."

"CANDYYYYYYYY!" His exclamation split the night air and Meegan could only laugh. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all.

They saw the monk, who Meegan had to explain was "Happy". She wasn't about to try and explain to a four year old that drunken meant something totally different. Tatianna, Isk, Joanna, Daelric.. and a host of others smiled and fawned over the child. The only hitch had been the dark man. Meegan thought she recognized him but wasn't for sure. At least not until she saw Isk nod his head in confirmation. It really didn't matter. What did matter was the fact that the boy was terrified of dark man.

It had never occurred to Meegan that she might have motherly instincts. At least not until Addie gripped her hand tighter and she protectively pulled him into her side to shield him. Then and there she knew she would die before she let harm come to her tiny sidekick.

Two pieces of chocolate (She would have to thank Nathalas later) and seven cookies and they headed back to the Hostel. Back into Christa's care he was entrusted and she smilied as she watched him run off to his room. It occurred to her that maybe, just maybe she herself was capable of growing up.

Cuth gently urged his horse off the Northern Bridge that connected the small island containing the Parliament Building to the larger section of the Magincian Isle. Here, just over a small ridge, the Bane Army was roaming the land, looking for anything and anyone to destroy. On more than one occasion Bane Dragons had come over the ridge and even up on to the Northern and Southern Bridges. Cuth and the many Janissaries in attendance at the Magincian Bazaar continuously kept them at bay, dropping them with swords or spells.

The number of Bane and the ferocity with which they attacked when they did get close to the Parliament Building was a thorn in Cuth's side through the entirety of the Bazaar, causing him to spend the bulk of his time bringing them down with his axe and preventing him from seeing much of the festivities. Occasionally he would walk back down the bridge and peer into Parliament, observing the throngs of people move from booth to booth, but aside from a short conversation with Thraxas at the very beginning of the event, he was not able to converse with any of the guests. Every time another Bane Dragon came into view, he would sigh in annoyance and charge at it, safe in the knowledge that there were a multitude of Magincians at the ready to prevent these beasts from getting into the Parliament Building.

At one point he did overhear that Addie, the young Magincian boy who was currently living in Vesper, had been brought to the Bazaar. He hoped the boy had fun, but never went out of his way to find or talk to him. This boy had already been through enough, he certainly didn't need an additional face-to-face with the Bane to add to his list of horrifying encounters, and Cuth felt personally responsible for keeping those animals away from him. Magincians took care of their own. In thinking about it, Cuth began to ponder whether or not seeing the Bane would set off some type of panic reaction in the boy. He must know who they were; after all, as he was present during The Invasion, although he had been frozen in some way by The Time Lord.

Seeing another group of Bane Dragons crest the hill, Cuth put his axe to the ready again. "Addie must be a strong boy..." he said aloud to himself "After all, anyone who spends an extended amount of time with Meegan would have to be...". Laughing, he urged the horse onward, charging towards the Bane yet again.
